Best settings for an Asscher diamond?

What type of settings would work best for an Asscher diamond that's in the 0.5 - 0.75 ct range? Thanks!

I may have mentioned on another thread that I thought an asscher that size would benefit from a halo setting. This is one of my favorites, but there are less expensive options, too, and I'll try to search for some of those as well!

I think a solitaire could be really nice (x-prong style would suit an asscher well...but there are many others)
also halo...Gypsy's gorgeous halo comes to mind...

I'm not sure what your budget is but there's been quite a few nice settings on doverjewelry that would look nice with an asscher that are really reasonable in price. One of them the head would have to be changed out (looks like a prong peg head so shouldn't be an issue) but here are a couple I found that aren't halos. this is the one that would need a new head if they can change it out (dover should be able to tell you if they can or not) and if you want more of a "vintage" feel they may be able to add milgrain to any of the settings (depends on the amount of metal on the sides and the bench working on the piece)

My all time favorite asscher ring is bezel set with milgrain with bezel set side stones that was done recently (I'm sorry I can't recall who's!) but its sheer perfection in my book

I wouldn't buy an asscher cut diamond without being able to see actual images of the diamond you're buying. They really vary--some have darker 'steps' and wider/thinner areas. You might want to just look at asschers at JamesAllen.com or GoodOldGold.com. Actually, I'd probably just call up Good Old Gold and tell them exactly what I'm looking for, budget/solitaire that's antique-looking, and have them do the rest! Good luck!

I can't comment on the company or the stone because I'm not a step cut expert but for the most part but usually the regulars like to have ASET images for the step cut stones (helps show where the light return/etc is and how well the stone is cut)

However I"m not sure which dover settings you are looking at but I did find an example for you to look at to see it "all put together"

In all honesty though the engraving shouldn't be that hard to add to a solitare setting. If you contact someone at goodoldgold, WF or BGD they should be able to source a nice asscher for you and have a stock setting of theirs with that style of detail added.

I prefer my asscher in a solitare setting. This is a little larger stone than yours but I like the shape to stand out on it's own.
