best setting for TIC or FIC diamond?

Hi all -- I''ve bought a beautiful stone (either a 1.45 ct TIC or 1.3 ct FIC... haven''t decided which to return yet...) but am lost on the setting. Would bezel or basket type settings detract from the brilliance of the diamond? Does the pavillion need to be open to bring in light? Any help much appreciated.


Btw, I LOVE the Cartier Ballerine set w/ a round, but can''t find anybody that has done a replica! Any suggestions of something close would be much appreciated...
