Hi,

Wondering what are your opinions for best setting style for eternity bands? Between scalloped, u prong or any other types?

I think I like the way u-prong shows off the diamonds more, but for the way the ring looks and sits better on the hand I might like scalloped shared prong style better. I really need to try on more to see what works since I want to do it with IDJ I need to be able to tell them exactly what I want since I live in CA!

I have a u-prong and like it very much (20 ptrs 7 stone). I think it might depend how big of stones you are going with.

Hi @kimf79, It depends on how you will be wearing the eternity band. Will it be a stand alone ring ? If so you can pick something more open like a scolloped or u prong setting. You can also pick any height, something low and comfortable that sits close to the finger, or high and proud that shows off the stones.
If you want to stack with another eternity band or engagement ring you may need to pick a more protective setting so the rings don’t damage each other, and they sit together nicely.
Have fun picking your new ring.;-)

I have a 5 stone that is U prong setting. I personally picked it because I thought it was a cleaner look to me and I enjoyed setting the side of the diamond. I believe the shared prong might be "safer" if you are heavy/not gentle with your rings.
Good luck with your decision and try on both to really decide. Can't go wrong with either though. Both are classic settings that have been worn favorites over time!

I have a a U prong full eternity ring l, I find it to be very comfortable and it sits very low on the hand
