I know that it''s tough without a picture, but I recently purchased a gorgeous cushion cut diamond engagement ring and I love the stone but hate the setting. I feel that the split prong setting (while secure) hides too much of depth and fatness of the stone - which in my opinion makes the cushion so great.

Any setting types out there that someone could recommend that will really show of the full size of the diamond (including the depth and girth of the stone)? Pictures would be helpful.

Thanks.

I had my cushion in this scott kay solitaire. It is double prong but still showed so much of the stone-in fact that was my favourite thing about it! I believe they also make a single prong version if you are interested. IMO, not having a ''basket'' or perpendicular bar across the middle of the prongs really opens it up.

Excellent suggestions. Here is another one by Leon Mege - http://www.artofplatinum.com/4images/details.php?image_id=564.

Another option that is split shank but also very open ..

I really love your ring/setting in this picture. Do you know if this style comes in a pave band? Does this style/model have a name? I absolutley love it.
