Hi, I have a large old cut stone. It is in a custom (non-original) setting from a very, very upscale local jeweler and could be either an engagement ring or a cocktail ring. Any recommendations for consigning it? My husband bought me a beautiful ring last year - and so I no longer wear this one. I don't have a certificate for the center stone. It is a bit warm but still white. Should I have the stone sent to the GIA? Should I have it recut? I was considering consigning online with Fay Cullen www.faycullen.com.. Does anyone have any experience with her? Any advice? My husband did not want me to sell it - but I finally convinced him that it is going to sit in a drawer forever unless it is sold.
thank you

I would suggest taking a look at Estate Diamond Jewelry. I've been dealing with them and they are an absolute pleasure. They specialize in larger diamond rings. http://www.estatediamondjewelry.com

Two options familiar to many PS'ers are Erica at http://www.loveaffairdiamonds.com/,, and Grace at http://www.jewelsbygrace.com/.. Both are familiar with old cut diamonds - in fact, I think they sort of introduced many PSers to old cuts through the business they previously owned jointly, Jewels by Erica Grace. Each of their websites includes consignment information.

You can post on Loupetroop.com and also GoodOldGold takes estate pieces.

I think Jewels by Grace and Love Affair Diamonds do the best to market their pieces
with all the pictures and videos they post. Some ppl list on both Loupetroop and JBG or LAD at the same time.
Also Loupetroop and GOG at the same time.

Yes, please post pictures here on PS.
