I have a rough design I had done on paper for a large round Namibian demantoid I bought along with a parcel of smaller rounds for accent stones vs. diamonds. I''m a colored stone person and only use diamond accents when i have to or it ultimately looks the best.

I gave the sketch to my jeweler friend to take to his goldsmith that has made a few of my semi mounts. He does beautiful work but
he''s decided to be greedy and upped the cost so high claming the price of gold that even my jeweler friend told him he will no longer
send the man his clients if he''s going to start ripping people off.

I''ve spent hours on line over days and weeks trying to find something either similar to my design or another for sale that I liked as well
or better. I found one which was a plain tiffany style band setting for the solitare and then the wrap on Stullers site.. they won''t talk to me since I"m not a jeweler... my guy has called them and left messages, emailed them multiple times, each time giving then his account number
with them, but he says they are always like this.. IMPOSSIBLE. Its been weeks and he said he called and emailed again and still
no response from them.

I have wanted to get these stones set so I can wear the ring for almost a year now and having NO LUCK with finding a design to order
or a goldsmith that will do it and be reasonable in costs .

Any one have any suggestions. I don''t have stones with me on this road trip for the exact mm sizes, they are all rounds... center stone is apx 1.34 CTW and the accent stones are all .20 ctw each and I have up to 20 of them to use but my design and the Stuller was both for 8- 10 accent stones in rounds. I''ll be home in about 3 - 4 days and have their MM specs written down in the container with the stones.

Any and all suggestions appreciated !!!

many of the colored stone folks here on PS have bought settings from Lord of Gem Rings - an Ebay seller, Jewelry hoo another Ebay seller, Yigal Jewelry another Ebay seller. You can try uniquesettings.com tons to look at, however you will have to order from your local jeweler. I''ve also bought semi mounts from Tripps.com. Look also on Adwar.com Good luck. if you want custom, then I suggest Whiteflash.com however it maybe more costly than what I have listed.

A vote for Pal at pmgart on etsy. He did an awesome ring for me and can custom make anything you might want at a great price.

Cinnamon - I''m going to using him one day, when I get my jewelry funding back to full in the piggy bank

I have Lord of Gem Rings marked on my ebay account.. but I''m going to definitely look at the other sites when I get home and
back to my usual computer with the DSL line.. this satellite system is not much above dialup, just enough so one''s system doesn''t keep
crashing so web browsing is hard right now. Thanks for all the suggestions, give me something to do on Sunday when I get home.

His Etsy shop is temporarily closed?

For custom gold and silver work, I keep hearing about Julia Kay Taylor on Etsy. I don''t have anything set by her, but I was told her prices are reasonable, and her work is really nice!

For "stock" type settings, I have one from jewe2004 on Ebay, similar to Lord_of_Gem_Rings (another Ebay seller). Their prices were very reasonable, and they can customize to an extent...they made a larger head on one of their rings, whereas LOGR was unable to do that.

If you send your picture to LOGR, he might be able to do it. Do you have a picture you can scan in and show us? Maybe someone can find something similar online for a great price.

To the highlighted sentence above, I am just like you. I only collect colored stones, and colored diamonds. I have no interest in white diamonds except as accent stones, and I find LOGR to really fit the bill for inexpensive, yet nice semi mounts with diamond accents. You can also upgrade the diamonds and gold as well on these settings. The specifics of how to do so are in each of his listings. I have a several LOGR's.

You should also post this question in the colored stone forum. You're more likely to find more answers there since so many people in that forum know about settings that will fit colored stones.

Also if you want a Stuller piece and of the PS jewelers can get them for you. I''ve asked ERD, BGD, HPD for pricing on Stuller pieces and it''s been quick efficient and they''ve all been really great about it. I''m sure any PS jeweler would do it for you, and many local jewelers too. My local guy has priced out (competitively) stuller peices for me with no problem.

I have bought from JuliaKayTaylor on etsy and she is great, so I would definitely second that recommendation.

For a super cheap mount you might even try JTV.

cinnamon--do you have a link for him? I tried searching and couldn''t find the store. Thanks!

There are a lot of nice relatively inexpensive settings on idjewelryonline.com. There are a lot to look at, though, but some are quite reasonably priced. I have been looking at some of their settings for my loose stones. Link

I've also bought semi-mounts from Ebay seller Oxford Diamond Co. and have been very pleased with the quality and prices.
