Hello! I need to deside which one to buy:
1.02ct 6.57 - 6.63
Selected: 58% depth, 59% table, 31.5° crown angle, 40.8° pavilion angle
1.3 - Excellent (only Spread - VGood)
and
1.01ct 6.30 - 6.34
63% depth, 55% table, 34.5° crown angle, 40.4° pavilion angle
0.8 - Excellent (but Spread - Good)
Both have GIA report, first get cut grade - VG, second - G. The second 5% cheaper, than first.

I was surprised when diamond with so small diametr get very high Performance Rank. Is it true?

p.s. i can''t see this stones before order

how about something in between like 6.45mm?

don't like either.

31 crown is v. shallow

depth 63 is high, 40.4 is the pav avg, and that's shallow - esp since some values will be under, performance degrades/<?

i like 6.45mm too, but discounts from "rap" is minimal. 4examp, this stones i get -35%, Ex-Ex-Ex, -15-20%.
By the way i have seen many 6.45 with HCA Rank "Good -> Fair". And never seen 6.3mm (cut G) with HCA Rank below 1.

too shallow or to steep will mean too spready or too compact!

Can the vendor get you an idealscope image?

Both could have good light return. #1 will tend to be brightness return, less fire, also with that shallow a crown, girdle will be more vunerable to chipping. #2 has a smaller spread because of the larger crown height, assuming no thick-Ex thick in the girdle variation, might still work if well cut, large lower half so less obstruction issue, idealscope image will tell more, it is a cut favoring fire.

Hi Nezumi

Both of these diamonds could have potential issues. The first has a slightly shallow crown, if this is combined with a very thin girdle then this can mean an increased chance of chipping, otherwise it could be ok. The stone might show a tendency towards brilliance rather than fire.

The second is too deep physically which can mean a loss of face up size as we can see. The pavilion angle is shallow so this means the stone might show obstruction, this is where a stone visibly darkens at close scrutiny due to the viewer's head blocking the light to the stone. The proportions aren't the greatest with the pavilion, the crown angle would be fine if the pavilion was in the region of 40.6 or above, the proportions suggest the stone isn't going to be particularly fiery - it might be a decent performer but it is facing up small for the weight. But I would personally keep looking especially if no images are forthcoming but I would pass on the second altogether due to the pavilion and high depth. You want a well cut 1 ct diamond to face up around 6.5mm in diameter.

A lot of thanks for responses!
Information about Girdle:
1.Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted (3.5%)
2.Slightly Thick to Thick, Faceted (4.5%)

I recieved another one:
1.02
Selected: 62.3% depth, 58% table, 35.5° crown angle, 41.2° pavilion angle
HCA 4.6
M: 6.41 - 6.43 x 4.00mm
G: Medium to Slightly Thick, Faceted (4.0%)

The question is what's better: High HCA Rank or "normal" measurements with Low HCA Rank. (High HCA rank and good measurements is not the solution

I'll ask vendor about idealscope images.

unfortunately no pricescope images for those stones

no good for the new stone.

I would prefer good HCA score with not normal measurement.

Why not buy from an online vendor that can provide these images?

Tell us your specs and budget and maybe we can find something for you?

i like 6.45mm too, but discounts from ''rap'' is minimal. 4examp, this stones i get -35%, Ex-Ex-Ex, -15-20%.

do you know why?? b/c well cut stones will always sell for more $$$. there''re lots of stones on Ebay that are -30% back of Rap,but i wouldn''t touch them with a 10 ft pole.

Yes... this is the obvious statement to be made here!

Not always, month earlier i bought triple Ex, HCA 1.2, -35% from Rap (GIA, L\SI1,MedBlue). But when you really need something, that''s always more expensive.
Only for example (because i can''t change vendor), i need 1.01 GIA K\VS2 HCA below 2 (AGS 0-1), 2650$ per ct.
