Hello all I''ve been trying to find the best Diamond for what I can afford. I''m looking to spend $1k for the diamond. I''m looking for at least a .50 carat Princess cut. After reading/hearing many opinions,I may have found the Diamond. Would this be the best option I can find for what I can afford?

Welcome!

The thing is you can''t judge Princess or any other fancy shapes by numbers, pictures and aids such as ASET are really essential and to the best of my knowledge, BN do not offer such services. They do have a 30 day return policy, but without the above you have no way of knowing how the diamond will look. Have you looked at vendors such as Wink Jones, Whiteflash, Good old Gold who have in house diamonds with all the cut analysis info available?

Thanks for the welcome and response. I have looked at both Good old Gold and Whiteflash. I''m looking at Wink Jones now. For the most part they either do not have a Diamond I am looking for or out of my price range. I contacted BN they said that I can return the diamond if necessary for another selection. I may just go that route. Is there any thread that has more information specific to Princess cuts? Thanks again

This is the only guideline around.

Try and get all the specs together, but that still will not guarantee an ideal performance in the stone.

AGS has a princess cut grade so that is the easiest to ensure good performance if you do not have access to other tools like IS or ASET pics.

Good luck

I will read this. Thank you both for your help!

You are very welcome! The chart is helpful but use it as a guide only otherwise you could miss out on some diamonds you might like as SC says. If you try the search tool and type in Princess, that should bring up some more info, also this thread might be useful to you, it explains how ASET works for fancy shapes.

Other than that, check out some AGS0 cut grade Princess as that might make it easier to find a lovely diamond. I don't know if BN carry them but some of the other vendors do.
