Do Blue sapphires that have berylium diffusion treatment have color zoning or is the color blue all the way through ?
and for the Yellow, Orange and Pad Sapphires do they always contain a vivid or intense level of color or can they be treated to make light yellow sapphires ?
Re: Berylium Diffusion treatment Questions for Gemologists o
I think it depends on the untreated stone - if it is color zoned before treatment you will see it ( depending on the intensity of the zoning)
in the treated stone. Zoning is no sign for an not Be treated stone.
I think they can produce different tones in Be treated to come closer to an untreated sapphire - no unreal Micky Mouse colors!!

Glad you've found your answer. Yes, BE diffusion has gotten very good to the point it looks like an untreated stone. There are colour zoned diffused sapphires and even light or gray/brownish diffused sapphires. They are no longer limited to intensely coloured colours.
