Benchperson in Atlanta? Recommendation Needed!

Hi All!

I'm normally over in the Fmaily and Home area but I actually have a jewerly item to discuss today!

My DH's wedding band needs repair, and I'd love to know if anyone has someone / somewhere to recommend in Atlanta.

His band has a rope detail along either side, and one of the rope sections came completely off (first it came loose and got caught while he was working then the whole peice came off)

We got the ring online and haven't been able to contact the vendor yet (left messages that haven't been returned) and we woldn't want to replace it anyway, because of the sentimental value.

We went to a few places already, one said they can fix it for $50 and it will take a week, another said something over $100 and that he wold have to leave the ring for several weeks!

So any advice you all have would be much apprecited!

Hi everyone - I'm reviving my old thread because I need more bench work done in Atlanta and want some recommendations.

My platinium engagement ring and wedding band are much too small after my pregnancy, baby is 6 months now and I'm ready to wear my rings again! They need to be sized up from 5.75 to about a 7 (maybe 6.75)

Worthmore in Decatur which has a good reputation locally, quoted me over $700 for the 2 rings! This does include fixing a couple loose stones on both the band and the e-ring as well as polishing them both to showroom shine but jeez that is outrageous!

Another friend recommended Decatur City Jewelers, and I'm going to try them next.

Anyone else? Looking up old threads it looks like The Ross Company is one that was recommended.

I am also contemplating a reset for my ering, how do transactions like that usually work? As in tehy tell me the value as 'trade in' for my existing setting then I have credit for the new one of so much (like trading in a car?) anything I should know about that process? I'm not certain that's what I want to do so most likely I won't for the time being, but it is a possibility.
