Before/After on my channel set wedding band

Unbelievably, I've worn a channel set eternity band for 25 years and NEVER had it serviced. I must have my head examined. I'm lucky, though - never lost a stone and only noticed (while thinking about a reset for my e-ring) that my wedding band was in jeopardy.

I was told by 2 different jewelers that the band would have to be recreated from scratch. BUT a 3rd jeweler performed this modern day miracle below. Built up the channels, secured all of the stones, and even sized it up a bit by removing gold from the inside of the band.

Who knew??

It looks beautiful.

I agree with Marcy. Beautiful ring!

It does look beautiful - great rehab of a great ring!

Thank you all! So happy that I could keep my original wedding band!

It looks brand new! Did the jeweler just do a polish or did it have other issues?

It had other issues! The edges of the channel were extremely worn down and were no longer locking in several diamonds securely. In fact, several stones had shifted inside the channel and upon closer inspection were loose. When I brought the ring in for a professional look, I was told to stop wearing it immediately and that I needed a completely new reset. I was so happy that the 3rd jeweler said that additional gold could be added to beef up the channels. I believe he said that this would be done using a laser technique. In any case, for sentimental reasons, I'm thrilled to be keeping my original wedding ring!
