Hello forum members,

Thinking of buying a pair of south sea pearls of max 12mm. Buying online seems to be the only option, and an issue would be to have to return them for a refund. "Item not as described" would be an option.

Since the pearls look very similar on the photos and videos, how can I prove to the customer service that the pearls are not the south sea ones as indicated, but a cheaper freshwater bead nucleated version?

Thank you!

Good. Choose a more trustworthy vendor.

SSP are the most costly pearls. Round, well matched, high quality 12mm SSP are expensive.

Also, pearls prices are up at auction across the board. Sellers are having to pay more for the pearls they buy from dealers. They have to pass along the price increases to customers if they want to stay in business.

So watch out for unusually low prices. If it's too good to be true.... you know the rest.
