I received this stone last week and I am smitten :appl:
Barry called it a "Santa Maria Afrique" and its from Mozambique. It is a 2ct 8mm round and I'll show Barry's photo first.

Gorgeous! I'm even sorrier than I was before that I didn't get it--are you sure you wouldn't like to return it? :cheeky:

What are your plans for it?

It's absolutely beautiful - what a great colour!

What are your plans for it?

Very nice saturated color for an aqua. I also have to give Barry cudos for his cutting. He gave it a high crown and smaller table to minimize the tilt window, which beryl is prone to.

It's a winner! What are you thinking of doing with it?

Such a pretty color!

What a gorgeous aqua!!

I have to admit I'm a little envious too! Really beautiful stone! Thanks for posting, I was hoping we'd see that gem again. :)

I have a pastel blue tourmaline in a split shank 18K yellow gold setting with millgrain. The setting is all upgraded diamonds and gold by LOGR. I wouldn't do a bezel since I think Barry's faceted girdles are beautiful and should be exposed.

My stone is 8.3mm and cut just like yours. High crown, small table.

I love how these pastel stones glow in a halo.

Very pretty aqua and a wonderful color.

Gorgeous aqua! I am looking for a stone just like this (Peter Torraca is cutting something for me this week but I'm not sure that the color will be quite this awesome!). The color is perfect and the cut is beautiful. Congrats on your beautiful stone  What are your plans for it?

I love the color, and to have been cut by Barry on top of that--just wonderful.

That's gorgeous! It seems very saturated for an aqua.

TL, I honestly love your tourmaline! I started looking for an aqua after numerous failed attempts at snagging the coveted blue-green tourmaline.... Yours is a beauty and the LOGR setting is one of my favorites :))

Stargurl & Athena, Good Luck on your stone search! I hope something comes your way soon :rodent:

thanks Shiney, bright ice, artdecogirl. Marcy, Indy, and everyone else!
