basket vs prong and cathedral settings

is a 4 prong basket setting safer for the stone than a 4 prong blade (ie a four prong version of the traditional tiffany design) setting?

is a cathedral setting safer for the stone than a traditional solitaire?

should a cathedral setting physically join with the mid-line ring on a basket setting?

Well, both setting's are safe, but personally I would go with the "Basket Setting" because it lets more light into the stone wich means it will sparkle more! Wow - a 2ct rock! I hope that your doing it in white Gold!! Good luck
