Sooo happy the postal strike is over! Got my Namibian tourmaline yesterday, and my Mahenge spinel from Gene today. :appl:

I was asked to post pics of the tourmaline, and thought I'd take pics of both.

sooo pretty!!!! :appl:

Question: is this how I'm supposed to post pics, or should they go in the "catch all", or under the vendor vs. buyer thread?

p.s. the spinel looks "hotter" IRL.

Beautiful. Gene and Barry are my two favorite lapidaries.

NKOTB ~

Gorgeous!!! I love, love, love the Barry tourmaline! I honestly think his blue-green tourms are one of my very favorite gems. I've never been fortunate enough to snag something of Gene's. Congrats and enjoy :appl:

Lovely! :appl:

But you can't seriously think that those photos are enough. We need more!

Thanks, all.
Faegrace - yes, that was a lucky (albeit expensive) week. I was a bit surprised about the spinel, it had been posted for almost a whole hour, I think!
Aoife - lol, okay, I'll see what I can do. :)

Gorgeous gorgeous! I'm in love with the tourm!

Both of your gems are beauties  !

They're both gorgeous! Do you have plans for them yet? Boy that supernova...mmmm...

That tourmaline color is to die for and that spinel aint to shabby either!!! Really pretty stones!

Packrat - nope, no setting ideas yet. Any input welcome. :) I seem to be focusing on the accumulation of stones, not leaving any money for the next stage. And yes, the cut is beautiful and sparkly. I didn't consider myself to be an oval fan, but there was a lot of "supernova" talk on this forum, and I loved the colour, so I owe a big thanks to all of you for expanding my horizons. :)

That supernova is to die for. both stones look beautiful together IMO. You could pendant them spinel above tourm, both N-S, in a very open semi-bezelling style? It would be quite the piece...! :naughty:

Natsplat, when I put the stones beside each other, I also liked how it looked, and your pendant idea is a good one. However, I have a ridiculous pendant collection as it is (by Indigo Flameworks, anyone familiar with them?), and would prefer to be able to see these stones without having to look in the mirror. Thanks, though! :)

No setting suggestions, but just wanted to chime in and say they are both gorgeous! congrats!

Look at those sparkle!!! 8-)

Ok so I known it’s been too long @NKOTB but did you ever end up setting the blue tourmaline from Barry. I have a similar one so looking for inspiration!
