Here''s my set, which I no longer wear together because I think my wedding band takes away from my e-ring:
I have to disagree with you Haven, I think your set looks gorgeous! However, I am not the one wearing it, so I completely understand your perspective.

This looks great! I think its the width of the wedding ring, so if you can minimize the width of the wedding band but still give it some sparkle will work well to compliment the ering. They are all so gorgeous though!

Haven, I think your set looks beautiful together too.

I actually really like it with the bezel too, but I''m also liking the plain platinum idea. I just love that look!

Hi ICU,

I too can''t decide on WB.

Here''s a pic w/ shared setting.......

that''s beautiful lisa - how many points are the small stones and what carat is your big stone?

I think your solitaire is gorgeous. I like the bezel set with it or a smaller diamond band.

I really like the bezel band with your solitaire. It''s so delicate that it doesn''t take away the focus from your gorgeous ering.

And here's how I wear my wedding band now, with my grandmother's ring, on my right hand. I'd wear these on my left hand, but my grandmother's ring is too small for my left ring finger, it fits better on my right.

SO, I guess what I'm trying to say is if you don't find a wedding band that you love, you don't have to wear them together!
Haven, your rings are gorgeous!! I personally like your ering and wedding band together, but your band and grandmother's ring together look beautiful. They look perfect together!

Ooh, ICU, I like the look of that last band you posted. It works really well with your solitaire without overwhelming it somehow.

BUT, if you''re still undecided, I too went with the idea of "the thinner the band, the bigger the diamond looks!" and enforced it enough that the hubs chose a solitaire on a knife-edge band. However, he picked out a channel-set band at the same time with diamonds that were pretty large, and it completely overwhelmed the solitaire and worked against that knife-edge too. He could tell I wasn''t thrilled with the look of that big chunky channel-set band, so we went out, trying to avoid the channel-set, but lo and behold, a smaller tcw channel-set eternity band ended up having much much more minimal metal. Even though I was losing sparkly size (I know, it''s crazy to go for SMALLER diamonds!!), my OCD self is much much happier with this eternity band b/c it''s as close to the knife-edge band size as we could get, AND doesn''t leap out with lots of metal overwhelming the diamonds. Just saying, don''t give up hope on the channel-set b/c of one that didn''t work!

Attaching a pic to demonstrate.

There''s a natural transition period where you''re getting used to the idea of something else with your e-ring. It was hard for me & I wanted to use my e-ring as my wedding band in the ceremony but DH didn''t like that idea. Thinking it would look like I was eternally engaged & not yet married. Anyhoo -- out of respect for his feelings I kept looking & looking and looking. Eventually I did find something I liked with my ring (though - honestly liked my ering by itself the best).

Three years later -- I no longer feel that way. My ering seems lost w/o its little buddy. I have no idea what I was thinking back then -- other than I was just used to seeing it alone & it was weird to see it cluttered up wth another piece. ANY other piece -- even though some clearly went better than others.

It may just take some time to get used to the idea of adding something. Pick what you like best, but then give it a chance to grow on you. Like the gal who just checked in after a month & all of a sudden LOVES LOVES LOVES that 1.8ct ring she initially thought was too small. Adjustment. Growing pains. Transition. It''s natural.

I wear my e-ring alone on my left hand, and then my wedding band and my grandmother''s ring on my right hand for exactly the same reason you posted this thread--I feel like *anything* paired with my e-ring takes away from it!

Here''s my e-ring alone, which is how I wear it on my left hand:

I do the same thing; wear my e-ring on my left hand and my wedding band on my right. I prefer the look of my e-ring on it''s own. DH also wears his wedding band on the right.

I think I like this combination the best.

ICU--I think your e-ring looks great with the bezeled ring you posted at the top of this page. That is a GREAT wedding band!

Thanks for your nice comments on my rings, everyone. I''ll probably change up the way I wear them multiple times over the next few decades--I think it''s easy to get bored with a combo after a few years.

Hi ICU,

WB is .29 tcw (9 stones)

RB is 1.01 ct.

For fun (the channel-set is my original WB):

Your ering is gorgeous! Here is a linky to my thread on my wedding band (no handshots until we are married sorry). I have a 0.85ct solitaire, and decided on a dainty 2mm channel set band with 1 pointer ACAs. They look fabulous together. Maybe you could go for something like this?

And here is the link to WF, as they now stock the ''Honey Channel Set band''!!

hi ICU :)

have you thought about channel set princess stones? the size of the individual diamonds is then muted, and it just gives you a line of diamonds - kind of like an underscore for your engagement ring. :) 5pt stones would be nice, and thefacetscollection.com has plenty to choose from if you look under ''wedding bands''.

just a thought of perhaps a different direction.

also - brilliantearth.com has a very pretty bead set wedder with 3pt stones; not a dissimilar look to the very first ring you posted here, but more delicate. you might want to check that out before going in a completely different direction.

mind you - this is one of those situations where ''it''s all good'' really DOES apply!

ms halo - i definitely agree with the ''less metal'' policy... the thing i loved most about my solitaire is that it is LESS setting, more diamond. i would love to stick with that theme.!

4ever - i''m not sure how many points they were, i was actually so discouraged by this point at the store (i had tried on many other overbearing ones that really turned me off so i just stopped asking! The jeweler is on 5th avenue, upper east side manhattan so i have a feeling this is what contributed to the overbearing nature of all their ''demo'' bands. The jeweler only does custom pieces. i will have to go down to the diamond district and take my time with different sizes and styles.

diamond seeker - i love your band...i''m definitely going to tiffany''s to try it on! my ering is like a super thin lucida (bc of the xprong) and i wear a lot of tiffany;s so i think that simple classic look is more my taste. still love the bling though!

vip - thanks for the inspiration, i love your single prong eternity, it makes the diamonds really look round, which gets lost easily when they are so tiny and smooshed together. it looks delicate.

Thank you everyone for your opinions and compliments - and as for my nails, i get something called the permanent french, but here in NYC at dashing diva they started doing something new called ''gelife'' which is like super hard shiny nailpolish. it''s two thin coats of UV gel over the french mani. It''s pretty expensive (like $55), but it lasts weeeeeeks without chipping. Plus since I just got engaged and everyone keeps grabbing my hand, i figured it was a good occasion to spend money on my nails:-D i love getting them done though, thats definitely my ''splurge'' of choice.
I''m glad you are going to try on the Legacy band. Just be sure you ask for the smaller (2mm) one because there is also a wider one. I just wanted to tell you that I started out with a shared prong band with 10 point diamonds, and I thought it was too much, too. When I went and tried on the Legacy band, I instantly knew it was the one! It''s nto cheap, but it was worth it to get a beautiful band that compliments and does not take away from my e-ring, which is almost exactly like yours. Of course, Tiffany''s has many kinds of other bands you can try. I just didn''t even bother because I so loved the Legacy band when I tried it!
