So it has been a while since i have been here... First let me say thanks to everyone that helped my pick out my wife's ring. She absolutely loves it!! For those who don't remember, this was the successful proposal i pulled off https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/the-greatest-engagement-story.148057/

Needless to say, we were married on 11-13-11 at TPC - Ponte Vedra Beach Fl. And everything was amazing!! I should probably do another thread with pics and such...Anyway our 1 year anniversary is approaching and her birthday. So i wanted to get her a set of diamond studs to match her engagement ring. I am already dead set on wanting to go with Whiteflash again and ACA diamonds around .5 carat. I just don't know much about specs for earrings and what i should look for. Here are my two options so far. What do you think??

For reference here is the engagement diamond info.... http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-2231087.htm

Thanks as always for any help!!!

Congrats, your engagement looked wonderful. Missed that thread the first time around.

For what you are looking for, the most important thing in beauty is size, bigger diamond means bigger sparkles.
With a G color 1 carat engagement ring, I wouldn't hesitate to drop down to an I.
Clarity, IMO, least important, SI clarity is worth considering. She will be wearing them, not looking at it up close, and even then, I doubt she would see anything.

Ditto Julie on everything.

Have you given thought to the setting? Most brick and mortar stores have their earrings set in a 4-prong basket - a nice classic look. My studs are set in a 3-prong martini - I like the fact that the setting is almost invisible and the diamond appears to float on the ear. (Some PS'ers are concerned about the 3-prong martini style stretches their ear holes over time. I haven't found that to be a problem, but I also don't wear my studs every day.) I also recently bought a .25ctw pair in an 8-prong martini setting. The earrings are teeny tiny (a gift for a teenage girl) but I love the 8-prong setting, and I'd definitely consider it for myself if I get myself another pair of studs.

ETA today is a home chores day for me, but thanks to this thread I'll be sporting my diamond studs as I do my chores! :wink2:

Thanks for the advice...the biggest thing for me is the AGS rating for a princess cut. They have some of the best sparkle and wow factor. At the moment those 2 sets from whiteflash seem to be the only two with weights that close and same color. I guess i will just keep an eye out and try to catch a set with some lower specs.

oops - princess cut. Never mind my prior post!

The first G VS1 pair you have is very nice.
