What a fun thread!

I heard the name Berkley for a Kindergarten girl today and thought it was cute. I''m not a trendy name person myself, but it sounded so sweet!

I love Kendall and Morgan and Sutton too...Kinsey makes me think of the sex researchers so I am not sure I could use it...

What about the name, Kit?

I''ve kinda wondered about the location type names, like what if your daughter named Sydney decides to live in Sydney? Would that be weird? I''ve seen a big trend while enrolling new babies on insurance for location names.

I love Taylor and Madison. Some place names are ok, it really depends, some have become more generic. Not sure I could do Bronx or Brooklyn or Rome like some of the celebs...but Madison, which is a place, does not bother me at all.

I also love

Kendall
Kara or Cara
Chloe
Lily
Cooper
Harrison
Greer
Spencer
Leland (as a middle name for a boy)
Sloane
Mackenzie
Addison
Graham
Miles
Morgan
Logan
Jonas (though now I think of the Jo Bros too much, growing up I had a friend named Jonas)

Mia
Anya
Katya
Lacee
Karina
Maya
Kira
Shayna
Sonya
Donia
Dania

These were some that I considered many many years ago.......

Juliette
Cozette
Josette
Joie ( pronounce Joey not Joy i remember a past coworker with this boy name but her name suit her well)

Julianne is a pretty name! I just got an e-mail from a Julianne, lol.

A few of my favorite, less traditional, girl names are: Meadow, Lark, Fern.

Gotta convince my hubby that Lark is a great name when the time comes!
I knew a Lark in college and she was about the coolest/cutest girl around. I love that name now.

Riley
Paige
Logan
Sophie
Terren- never saw this until the other day, and thought what a cool name.
Vivian
Cammie
Kayla
Cara
Eva

GAH!! threadjack!!!! DIAMONDFAN!!!! I miss you!!

Okay, sorry threadjack over. Love all the names by the way

Miracles, thank you!!!! I am around! How are you????

Diamond Fan...I''m good! Being a Gramma is awesome. I''m crazy busy as work, but I am waiting on our new bling. I had to pick it all out without you because I havent'' seen you around. Glad to see your avatar! I hope you and the family are doing well!

I have known some really cool names for girls that are quite unique.

Nova (Our doula)
Turi (My daughter''s sweetheart nurse during the pushing phase, blonde and perky)
Ahlea (MY pilates instructor)
Dierra (My DD''s SIL)
Jordana
Helena (A name I still love)

And then of course, my new favorite, my granddaughter, Veda.

Wow, I just noticed that I like names that end in "A" Interesting.

Evelyn
Cathy
Amy
You can find lots of baby girl names with meanings here

Kinsey and Kira are so cute!

I''m helping my BFF find a girl name too...great thread!

So I''ve sent SIL two HUGE lists of girl names. Then asked her what she liked, and her favorite is Danica, which wasn''t on either of my lists

. While it is a cute name, it just makes me think of Danica Patrick and GoDaddy commercials

.

Thanks for all the suggestions though! And she does need a middle name to go with Danica, so I''ll keep sending her suggestions. She''s only 10 weeks preggo, so plenty of time to change her mind too.

I know a girl named Chalenne (pronounced Shal - en) and people call her Chally (Shally) for short. I think her mum made up the name, but I really like how soft and flowy it is.

Kendra

Kenzie
+1, Kendra is probably my favorite name. Similar in sound to Kayla two with the 2 syllable starts with a "K" thing. A friend of mine is the nanny to a girl named Ainsley which I think is really cute. I also love Kendall and Vanessa.

Danica Blair!

It''s not my style, but it sounds nice.

Danica Joy
Danica Elise
Danica Marie

Or, to keep that international flair...

Danica Milan

I like a one or two syllable middle name with Danica...it balances nicely. So many options out there...

Please, do not suggest Kinsey. To be named after a famous sex report would not be in a child's best interest.

I love some of the names suggested here. I have taught children named Avery, Lark, Cardin, etc. I love them all. I especially love Cardin.

Also, some parents have added an "EN" to the name and made a very pretty name.

One was named

Gracen. It was a play on the traditional Grace and the popular Grayson.

One was named

Larken. It just added the "En" to Lark. She was/is a lovely girl with a lovely name.

I like Hadley. A girl who was in the grade above me in school had a baby a few years ago and named her Hadley, and I thought that was so cute and so unique!
