So while I wait for several online vendors to find some stones for me, I thought I''d visit some local B&M stores and ask what they had for cushions.
I went to 3 stores. 2 had zero cushions. Another had 3 loose cushions in the the safe. NONE knew what I was talking about when I told them I was looking for a chunky antique style of cut. They had no clue of facet structure of cushions, including one jewelry store owner who''d been in town for many years.
In fact, 2 of them were sure I was being bamboozled by some new scam to sell people some new fangled diamond!! ALL highly recommended against buying online (of course!)
Mainly I was struck by the complete lack of knowledge. One person I spoke with claimed to be a GIA certified gemologist!
A big thank you to PS and all the users on here who''ve educated us newbies! The information here is priceless!
