I have been a lurker on pricescope for the past year and am now in the waiting club. No not the engagement club, but waiting for a (anniversary) ring club! Last year I purchased a .47 ct stone from Wink, and last week took the plunge and went to a local custom jeweler to make a "home" for the stone! It will be an adaption of a design I admired in the store. He says it will be ready today but I will have to wait until Saturday

to pick it up. I am very excited, but of course a little nervous since I won''t see it until it''s done. Anyways, I''ll try to post pics when I get it.

I''m sure the time from now to Saturday will be an eternity...definitely post hand pics when you get it!!!

I''m sure it will be worth the wait!!!

Yes, it feels a little like Christmas, the presents are wrapped, under the tree, just need to wait for the right day... When the time comes I may have to ask for help for posting photos (I can argue my husband this creating project provides a good incentive for me to learn more computer savvy skills)

Hello, I received my ring yesterday. It is very beautiful, but different than I expected. The original ring it was designed from was a 5 stone graduating band with a 22 pt stone, two 10 pt stones (3 bezel set), and two 5 pt stones burnished set into the band, all 18k gold. The new ring has a .47 pt center stone (semi bezel in platinum) two 12 pt stones (bezel set in platinum) and two 5 pters again, rest in 18k gold. The original you could see the band and the individual stones. The new ring, well you mostly see alot of diamonds (which is not bad) but a little of the original design is lost.
I guess I have to figure out, a) leave as is and enjoy it more as a 3 stone ring, or b) accent the center stone more by toning down the side stones back to 10 pters, bezel in 18k so they blend more with the rest of the ring. What do you think?

I tried to attach a scanned pic to this but didn''t work...

Here''s the ring

I think it''s really lovely the way it is! What exactly would you change? I''m confused.

Thank you! I was thinking when I first got it to switch out the side stones for smaller ones to tone down the overall effect. (But what am I doing going on pricescope asking if I should get smaller diamonds?

) However I am wearing it today and getting used to it. My mother in law has seen it and urges me not to touch it. I think it''s more a matter of me getting used to wearing diamonds. The majority of my jewelry is sterling and semi precious gemstones, so this is a bit of a step up.

I think your ring looks wonderful the way it is, and I would most definitely not tone it down!!! I see that after a day you are starting to get used to it...I bet in a few months you''ll want even bigger stones!

Truly, I think the setting is very nice and the size of the side stones compared to the center is very complementary. Enjoy it!!!

I took the ring "out" to a mall and later on went out with hubby to a nice restaurant for our anniversary, so definitely getting over the nervousness of wearing it and into the enjoyment of it! Kudos go out to Wink, who supplied me with the beautiful center stone (H, vs2, hearts and arrows), and to the folks at Goldworks, who made the ring both beautiful and functional (I wanted a ring that was both low but still sat flush with with my wedding band, and he fulfilled all my requests!) And a big call out to all the pricescope members who are both knowledgeable and friendly! Because of all the things I learned here I feel when it was time to make my ring, I knew what I wanted and it made the process much easier (plus it was fun to look at all the ring designs!)

I am technologically lacking so I sent a ring on pic to sevens, so hopefully she will post it.

Beautiful ring, partgypsy! Looking forward to more photos and handshots!

I was a garnet gal for a long time but totally caught the diamond illness. You''ll get used to it in no time!

That''s gorgeous! I think the sidestones compliment the center perfectly. It''s really unique and pretty, don''t change it!!!

Gypsy-

I think your new ring is beautiful!!! I saved your photos as inspiration for a rhr I''d love to have made. Wear it in good health!

Very nice ring! It looks great on your hand. I really like that setting... its a nice twist on a multistone ring!

It''s beautiful, I love the design of your ring.

gypsy, it''s beautiful. It has a nice "tailored" look about it and it looks great with your wedding band!

I think this is a beautiful and unique ring. And it looks fabulous on you!

Thanks all for your comments! I forgot to mention the name of the goldsmith who made it is Ted Hendrickson (Chapel Hill). Most of his diamond pieces are in platinum but he works in gold as well. I''m pleased as punch with my ring, and I like the fact if I ever choose to, can wear it stacked with other rings because it lays flat. Sigh, no more reason to browse pricescope anymore (because ring is made) -but still will for all the beautiful ring pictures.
