we all know that Pricescope is full of outliers so it got me thinking how Pricescopers stack up to known averages and our perceived averages.

My ring stone (1.55) is def average amongst people my age in my area.

Sorry I edited the poll to include a non-diamond option. Please vote again. Thanks. :naughty:

Over 2ct (2.2)

I'm 29 and live in the SF Bay Area and I'm at 1.16 after a mini-upgrade from .90. I'll get there

A couple years ago someone actually complied the data on all PS rings and the answer was surprising... I think we were about 1.25 on average... maybe a little (but not too much) more.

Mine is 1.09

I was just looking at those. I found it through this link: https://www.pricescope.com/blog/knot-survey-average-price-engagement-ring-5200. So it looks like a couple of years ago we would have been just above average. Next I'd like to see where the trends are for color and clarity. With this economy I wonder if preferences have shifted.

I bet it varies-- some will value size above all else while others value color or clarity.

Shape as well...that will also influence the size that people decide on.

I voted diamond alternative because I'm in the process of trading in my 3/4 carat diamond for a 3 carat sapphire. The rise in diamond prices allowed me to get a better trade-in price than I would have six months or a year ago.

Very nice--- please post when you get it :)

This is a really interesting thread. Mine is a 1.40 center stone. I don't take it for granted one bit because this is probably the nicest thing I have ever owned and I feel very blessed.

I'm off today so I think I will make a couple more polls.

Wow - surprised most votes are in 2ct +...I guess that numerically this is a wider range than the others, so that is part of it.

for RBs the PS avg is H VS2 1.18ct ... ;))
