AVCs in halo settings

I think the AVC cuts are beautiful, but notice most (not all) are not placed in halos. for those who have used halo settings on your AVCs do you feel that light return is diminished on the large facets?

Why would a halo diminish light return? Are you referring to a bezel halo? AVCs are cut for maximized light return though the crown of the diamond. Even a bezel set halo shouldn't diminish the light return. But I can tell you as someone who has a prong set halo... (on an asscher but large facets there too) mine doesn't dim my diamond at all. In fact the way mine is set with the girdle a little higher than where my halo starts (horizontally) it increases light return. I think prong set halos on AVCs (like the ones pictured) are great for light return.

I dont think having a halo will effect the light return on your AVC. I think its really just a matter of preference whether you like the look or not. I am sure the good old gold staff would probably have the best answer for you. They were really helpful and patient with all my questions when I was purchasing my AVC. Why,thank you CharmyPoo!! Yes, she is a Marcris maltese- Joyce was an absolute delight as a breeder,we still keep in touch. Do you have a malt,too?
