I just wanted to bring a selection of Avant-Garde jewelry looks and ask for your feedback. What do you love, what do you hate? i like those rainbow swirl earings too
and i kinda love those bubbles- a modern take on a stomacher perhaps ! although its not a very slimming look !

(not holding back) the gold finger tips and ears are just gross and a waste of raw material

these on the other hand are whimsical and delightful, fun and incredibly beautiful

The spiral moon earrings and the gold fingertips I would wear but the rest of the items featured are just cartoonish. Large, clunky and eye catching does not equal avant garde. Cartier's Panthers were avant garde, as were Schlumberger's animals but their designs are so refined and sublime- not clunky and unwearable.

I can be rather avant garde with my tastes, but I don’t like creepy things. I love the Tiffany butterfly earrings that lady gaga wore for some award show, or pieces by Victoire de Castellane, Anna Hu, de Grisogono etc - flamboyant, edgy, but delicate and beautiful. The fingers hanging off fingers and ears hanging off ears is too much for my taste.

I love avante garde jewelry. It took me a while to appreciate it, I didn’t understand it right away.

but it’s like a painting, or sculpture, but instead of on a pedestal or wall it conforms to the human body

form > function

The first time avante garde wearable art took my breath away was seeing the Alexander McQueen show “Savage Beauty” at the Met in NYC. It was shortly after he committed suicide, as he was broken hearted after the loss of his mother. So sad.

I have never been so moved by wearable art, I didn’t know it was even possible for me to feel that way. Everyone was grieving the loss of a genius, and many people had tears streaming down their face as they wandered through the exhibit
