I am currently looking for an engagement ring in the .75 to .9 carat range and live in Austin, TX. I have been to three jewlers so far and really have been semi-impressed with one called Danforth. I don''t know if its ok to give endorsements or whatever on this websites but im looking for a good, honest reputable dealer. I know Mr. Danforth was very nice and seemed like a jewler first and salesman second, which is a nice change. The only thing that concerned me was his diamonds were EGL and not GIA. He had some very reasonable prices ie: E color, Ideal cut, .81 carat for around 2200. I just don''t know if thats too good to be true b/c of the EGL certification, he seemed like a very honest man though. He said GIA is more strict and that EGL can be more lenient, it wasn''t like he was trying to hide they were EGL certified. Just curious if anyone knows of any other jewlers to compare to in Austin? Thanks.
