First, I want to say that I'm realllly new to this subject. My hubby and I are talking about purchasing a diamond. I LOVE my yellow diamond and it will always be my special wedding ring. However, the vintage cushions and the OECs really pull me in. I love the large faceting and the pastels

I've looked at a lot of the videos on GOG and am really drawn to the AVCs. Is that name patented just for them? I'm confused. I want to be sure I look at everything before we narrow down our search to find that special diamond and find "the one"

Who are vendors to check out with the greatest experience with these types of diamonds? We are looking for something between 3-5cts. I'm more interested in quality and light performance of the stone than size. And I'm aware that the larger vintage diamonds are more difficult to find...it will be worth the wait

Thanks in advance for your help

Yes GOG owns the name August Vintage, both for rounds and cushions (regular and "star" AVC's) - they are newly cut vintage style; also look at Victor Canera for newly cut vintage style stones with stellar light performance. For true antiques I'd look at Jewels by Grace, Love Affair Diamonds.

Yummy!

Yes, I saw that 5ct J stunner on GOG. I've inquired with a few questions but haven't heard back. Thanks for the other suggestions. I'll check them out!

I can only confirm - AVC from GOG or CAC (Canera Antique Cushion) from Victor Canera is the way to go if you want AGS000 and ideal light performance. Or vintage diamonds from Jewels by Grace, Love Affair diamonds or some other vendors.

AVCs are newly cut (GOG can even cut you especially on custom request) and more expensive because of the amount of rough that has to be cut off in order to get the perfect cut. Its really up to your preferences - some find them too symmetric and find vintage diamonds more charming, but I would love to own an AVC :)

If they haven't returned an email I'd surely give them a call - they're great to work with!
