at what size does a diamond look gaudy?

I think hand size does come into the equation. I have a small size 4 finger, so a 1ct diamond on me looks big.

However, a larger hand could take a 2-3 ct diamond quite easily.....and will look in proportion.

But don''t get me wrong....if DH bought me a 3ct diamond tomorrow, it would be on my finger (whether it looked too big or not)
