Thanks girls! I''ve done a lot of looking at past threads but most of the ascchers her seem to be halo''d and/or sidestoned. Except for vesper and asscher lover, I haven''t seen a lot of asscher''s in a platinum solitaire setting.
Thought it would be nice to start a new thread. Also, I''m having my ring reset and one of the things I''ve come to realize is that I don''t care for my side traps. I never wanted the look of a 3 stone ring. I''m prefering the clean, classic look of the solitaire.
Thanks for replying!

I''ve posted this before but can''t find the thread so I apologize for the repeat but it''s an 1.29 ct asscher in a Leon. I don''t know if it''s a solitaire with all the pave around.

Thanks Miss Fortune for starting this thread! Hopefully I''ll be able to post pics soon as soon as my stone is sorted. I''m planning on visiting Leon as soon as I have my stone. Good luck on your resetting! I too plan on having a solitaire, am deciding between nice & simple, or pave.
RLG thanks so much for posting those search keywords & links, looking forward to reading through them.
pix, did he actually refuse to do a solitaire?Date: 4/12/2008 2:07:47 PM

I know what you mean about just wanting a clean and classic design. I was all ready to ship my stone off to Leon and he tried to talk me into turning my cushion into a three-stone or a halo ring and I ran in the opposite direction. Best o''luck

Here is PGTips Leon.
And harlowqueen''s Harry Winston.
I like the ribbon prongs you posted last, I think they go very well with clipped corner stones.

Hi Ellen,
Oh no-no-no, not at all. He said he would do it if that''s what I really wanted, but he thought an antique style 1.01 carat cushion would be drowning in metal. I just want to clarify that I have nothing against three stones or micropave halos - it''s just that I''ve had tunnel-vision for a solitaire from the get-go and I did not want to be talked out of it. He advised me to send it to him and he''d take a look at it - because if it was spready - it would work, but shipping from Canada to the US and then back to Canada is expensive and quite a hassle; I just couldn''t take the chance of him trying to talk me into a bigger setting than I wanted once it landed in NY.
Sooo, I had it done by an incredible local jeweller, entirely hand-made and fit to my finger (no CAD) and it''s wonderful. I should have it by Tuesday. After I get used to wearing this one, I may upgrade the setting and have Leon do something like ''the Lovey'', but this will be my ''training ring'' for now.![]()

ANd just so you know Leon told me the same thing when we met with him. When I asked him what he suggested he said three stone (and wanted to put 1cts next to my stone! thankfully he didn''t say it in front of the bf, I think he might have strangled him!!), halo, or solitaire like bostonjeff''s... All are fabulous but not exactly what we had in mind... So I understand why you went locally! I really can''t wait to see it!
Miss Fortune~ I think a solitaire Asscher is to die for. Totally stuning when done well. And I really like the prongs you posted. They remind me of the prongs on Bems ring. Linky
Me too, your ring is really pretty.Date: 4/14/2008 9:10:07 AM

I have an asscher solitare but it is def not a leon. I do love how simple and elegant it is but if I had the choice it would have more graceful split claw prongs. I get a lot of compliments on it and it looks more delicate in person than in pics. I know it isn''t as popular but i love asschers in simple settings.
