First, thank you to all who have posted and continue to post on this board. All of you guys information has been so vital and imperative in the search for an engagement ring for some time. I recently got engaged (yaahh!) and received an Asscher e-ring which I absolutely adore and cannot quit staring at for almost a month now! I will definitely post pics when I can get around a newer digital camera that will show the true beauty of the ring. But I do have a question, well actually a few...First I wanted to post the stats on the grading report to let you all know the basics on the ring.

GIA Square Emerald Cut
Measurements: 5.88x5.76x3.67mm
Weight: 1.08
Depth: 63.7
Table: 63
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Culet: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Clarity: VVS2
Color: I
Fluorescence: None
$3857

How did we do? I am wondering how the stats look to the experts on this ring. I know that I am the one ultimately wearing the ring so my opinion should be the most important but I would really enjoy feedback on this. The other question, the more important one, is on the diagram on the bottom of the cert for the ring is that it has a tiny cloud halfway to the center of the diamond. I know "halfway to the center" is not an accurate description, sorry! I will attempt to rephrase, the cloud is in the middle of where the diamond x''s in the center, and where the steps are on the outside. I can see the cloud when I look into the diamond carefully but it is VVS2, is this for real or are my eyes seeing things? I have read on here before how people have purchased vs2 diamonds and have seen inclusions with the naked eye, but this is a VVs2. The cloud doesn''t really bother me but my fiance is bothered because he feels like he purchased a VVS2 (because with asschers clarity is very important, which you all know) and you shouldn''t be able to see anything at all with the naked eye. We have a 30 day return policy which is about to be up so I wanted to get expert advice from the experts (you all of course)! Feel free to make any and all comments!

I''m not an expert on diamonds by any stretch and I''m sorry, I don''t know the best proportions of Asshers, but in your opening line you said that you......."absolutely adore and cannot quit staring at for almost a month now." Most of us know what it''s like to over analyze our stones. I did (and still do). Are you sure you''re not seeing reflection from the setting? Is it possible the stone''s not completely clean (which can cause all sorts of optical illusions on a cut like an assher)? Maybe all you need is a good steam cleaning for your beautiful stone. BTW......I recently bought the Jet Clean from my jeweler for $99. Wow, it makes a diamond look like it was cleaned by my jeweler.

Anway, if you do adore the ring and you can''t stop staring at it, and it sparkles the way you want it to sparkle, my advice is to stop worrying about minute things enjoy your ring and look forward to a wonderful life with your fiance.

Best wishes to you...........

I am no expert but since Asscher is in the title I am sure Storm will chime in. The only thing I see in the numbers is that the table might be a little big and it looks like it might appear a little off square. I have heard that it is preferable to have the table at 61 or below but I don''t think yours is off enough to worry. Especially if it looks good to you, which is of course most important (especially with asschers and fancies). How do the patterns look to you? As far as the inclusion goes, I have heard they can show more when the ring gets dirty so I would try cleaning it really well and see what you think. Enjoy your ring and I cannot wait to see pictures!!

You shouldnt be able to see anything with your eyes in a vvs2 graded diamond and it should be very very very hard to find the inclusion with a loupe.
Asschers have to be judged by eye or pictures.

good price.
