I had this ring made for her. It is a 1922 Cartier replica with a palladium band and rose gold head. The band has .20 F VVS bead set diamonds and the head holds a 2.36ct VVS Asscher Pink Tourmaline that I had custom cut for this project. I know tourmalines aren''t hard enough for everyday wear, but when I can afford a sapphire of excellent quality to put in there I will. Let me know what you think!!

Here is a pic of the stone loose, after I had it recut.

OH WOW, I think that is one gorgeous ring and stone! I love the color and that it is set in a rose gold head. I also think that she will love it!

Really well put together: a great cut and a classy setting.

I love it! Unique and beautiful. Creative and classic. I can''t believe you got all those adjectives in one ring!

Wow, excellent job! That stone is amazing. And I LOVE the setting, did you design it yourself?

Beautiful ring!

Ditto, beautiful ring!

I think the setting is an excellent choice for that beautiful stone. Well done!!!! I was wondering however about the prongs in the setting. In the pic it looks like the prong at top right is not quite touching the stone. Perhaps just an illlusion?

Regards,
Lisa

The picture of the loose stone literally made me gasp! Goregeous!

What a wonderful ring, she will love it (if not, there are several takers here

)! The stone you had cut is so beautiful, she is going to have fun gazing into this ring. Probably getting ahead of myself, but do you have any plans for the pink tourmaline after it becomes homeless, or will that project be up to her?

Ooooh, that is a beautiful ring! I have always loved that Cartier setting for an Asscher, and I love it remade with the pink gold head to hold the pink Asscher.

wowza, it''s gorgeous!!!

That is absolutely gorgeous! Congrats! You have excellent taste! She will love it!

Thanks for all of the kind words. To answer a few questions:

All of the prongs are touching the stone. I made sure of that the day I received it. Not quite sure why it looks like that in the picture.

The stone probably won''t be homeless once she decides to replace it with something different. It will have some sentimental value to it so I am sure she will want to keep it.

I didn''t design the ring... Just a replica of a ring that Cartier made in 1922. I just thought it had a classic look, and fit this stone perfectly.
