Hi everyone!
First off, I want to THANK YOU all for the valuable information that you provide. With the knowledge that I got on this website, my fiancee & I were able to design the ring of my dreams in a very reasonable budget
I've always wanted an asscher cut stone, and after reading everything on this site I realized the importance of parameters beyond the 4Cs which definitely aided in our purchase. The setting was inspired by ones I saw on this site, especially katmari's beautiful ring. After we received the stone, I threw away any ideas of side diamonds as the beauty of the cut was just breathtaking.
Finally, I just want to say that while I was a bit nervous that an asscher stone under 1 carat might not perform as well, but I am absolutely thrilled with the size of my stone. It's perfect for my work environment (lab setting) where I sometimes need to push the stone to the side to wear gloves.
OK, here are the stats!
Diamond: 0.85 carat asscher, color: H, clarity: VS 1, Cut: Excellent, Depth: 72.4 (a little deep, but I think the price was discounted), Table: 60, Measurements: 5.15 x 5.11 x 3.70 mm
Setting: 19K white gold, by Sonora Jewelry Design, 2 mm wide tapered to 1.5 mm at the stone, ring size: 7
& finally, here is the bling
