hi kcorseolle, Acctually I have considered that one too. It is one of my choices. Gosh they are all so beautiful

For a 1 carat asscher, I would probably go with a halo setting - it will really make the stone pop. If you prefer to set it without a halo, I would make sure the setting is no wider than 2 mm. Both of the ones that you posted are beautiful!

JA was quick with this. But did not provide any other pictures. Than the 2
Here is the idealscope...i think its good, but not too sure how to read it.

I think the idealscope is good because I want it so bad to be

. But I am guessing dark spots are light leakage, can some on interpert this for me and explain the white, light, dark...ect. Thank you.

I do like the halo setting but I have always been leaning towards the ME15 and since I work in healthcare the diamond sits lower so its easier for me to put on and take off gloves. But still thinking on ME2 (halo seting).

I think the Ideal Scope looks pretty nice.

The E15 is gorgeous; a couple PSers have it; Stone Hunter has pics. But a wedding band will not sit flush, while one will with the halo.

Thanks for that info Julie.

white is leakage, black is obstruction, red is light return.
Im a little concerned about the black V in the center but cant call it.
at this point more pictures are needed.

Can''t comment on the stone since I know next to nothing about Asschers! But as for the setting, I love a halo with an Asscher. But if you decide to go without the halo, I prefer the Danhov setting very much over the first one.

hi jstarfireb, which one without the halo are you compairing? The first one on this page is a DanHov ME15. Thank you for your opinion.

It''s still a bit squarish for me, but better than the first one.

I also agree that for an asscher of that size a halo would be great.

Sorry, didn''t realize they were both Danhovs! The ME33 that kcoursolle linked to is the one I like. Actually, now that I think about more, I think I even prefer it over the halo.

It''s also set very low and I think would allow a band to sit flush. All of them are really beautiful though! My second pick would be the halo b/c it would make the stone look bigger. The thicker band on the other one I think would overpower your stone.

Oops, I meant the ME33. I like the 33 better. Looks a lot thinner and will make the Asscher look better. I think my thin band really helps out my asscher by making it look better. That JA stone is looking good.

Or to make it look really big, go w/ the halo - that one is yummy too. Sorry I guess I''m not helping, LOL

Ok guys, we are going for it! This 1.09ct with the ME 33 setting. We are calling JA in the morning. I figure I got 30days to really look at the diamond and ring and decide for myself in person. I will post pics when I get it. Thanks everyone.

Just looked up some older threads of photos of the me33 (ccustom but lose to it)and me15. They look so stunning. So what do you guys think still the me33? I think I will have to pass on the halo look, I really like the simple look more, and I would feel more comfortable wearing it to work.
Here is the link for someone with a custom but very close to me33 https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-asscher.62498/

and the me15 https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-new-cushion.52757/

oh yea...the me33 is $1000 more, thats a lot. Brings me just a little over budget. JA said that they did not offer discounts on settings, but I did find a thread that someone said Jim gave em 15% off the setting. Sooooo???

Seriously. Wow. I have a 1.09... Hmmm.

You must promise me you will take LOTS and TONS of photos of that setting. I want to know how close to Gwen's it is, honestly.

Geeezzz. I spent most of my night at work (until 3am) looking at assher rings in the "show me the ring forum". I thought that would make my decision this morning easier. NOPE!
30.gif
it did not work out that way.
Gosh all you folks got some gorgeus rings out there.

Just a bit of entirely late opinion...

I love an asscher in a halo. A thin, pave halo will really make the diamond pop.

Asschers are notoriously small for their carat weight...and a halo really makes the diamond look larger.

My asscher is 1.57 carats and it is halo-ed and I love it...

btw, your stone is FABOO!

Aren''t good asschers supposed to be "squarish" ?????

I agree that it would liik great in a halo setting.

It''s going to be beautiful, please come back with lots of pictures when you get it!! How exciting! I don''t think you''ll be sorry you went with this setting even though it is more expensive. It''s a gorgeous setting that will help you asscher pop!

Thank you...I think you will be right about the setting. BF ordered the ring this morning...getting excited. I will post pics.

Storm, thank you for bringing this asscher to my attention. Acctually Jennifer @ JA suggested this asscher too a while ago but I did not think the specs were considered ideal at that time. I know you suggested for me to get more pics, I did ask for them with the Idealscope but that was all they sent. I know the stone will not be perfect but I have 30days to really look at it with my own eyes and maybe bring it to an appraiser. Thanks again, you helped me a whole bunch!

I''m very late to the game on this one, but it looks like it will be an amazing asscher!

I''ll be looking for more posts from you once it''s done!
