Quick question for you all...is an Asscher band just too different to put next to an OEC? I am thinking it may be in terms of cut/sparkle, but I know they both have chunky kind of flashes. Please let me know as I have opportunity to purchase one at a decent price, but I have not seen any Asscher bands in my area. Thanks so much! :wavey:

I can't picture it together, but that's just me. I guess it would also depend on the setting of the oec...

I like oecs with asscher/square emerald cuts. I sold an eternity band a while back that had square emerald cuts because it didn't fit my ring finger. :(( I was so bummed it didn't fit, because it looked fantastic with the oec solitaire.

Thanks so much for the insight, this gives me hope that it may look good together! I have seen asschers next to french cuts but not an actual OEC. Do you happen to have a photo of the band you sold next to your OEC?

I think they can look awesome together. Honestly all the antique settings I love are from the deco period and combine baguettes and OECs. And I think they go REALLY well together. And an asscher band, as long as the style isn't too modern would be just lovely with an OEC.

No, I don't. I'm sorry.

I think it depends on your style setting for your OEC and asscher band. But yes they can definitely go together. Did you look on the antique and vintage forum? I could have sworn someone had something posted in the pinned thread at the top. I will see if I can look through it later.

Certainly they are from the same general era and could be gorgeous together as long as the settings were complimentary. If set in a channel, though, I'd get carre cuts which do not have the cut corners.

Here's a picture of an antique cushion with an emerald cut band. One of my favorite sets on PS. It belongs to Pixley. Hope she doesn't mind me posting for you. The band is made by Single Stone. I realize you have an oec not omc but just wanted to give you a visual of a stepcut band with an antique stone. Hope this helps.

Do you have a picture of the band you have the opportunity to purchase? Maybe someone can photo shop it very close to your ER that you posed yesterday, so you can get some idea. Can the band be returned?

MRS Peachy has an OEC with a non-matchy band that looks spectacular - not your asscher idea, but kinda like one of the other rings you posted. You should look it up!
