I am going to be putting this diamond in the Vatche X-prong setting.

This is from an online vendor, so is there anything else I can ask for to determine if this is the stone
I want?

THanks........

This is another square emerald stone I have found.

with this type of stone, is the VS2 a real concern?

THe price on this is 4200 dollars.

Shape Asscher
Carat 1.03

Clarity VS2
Measurements (mm) 5.96X5.87X3.86
Table % 66
Depth % 65.8
Polish Very Good

Between these two stones, can someone make a suggestion?

They are both similarly priced....

The inclusions of this VS 2 are mainly under the table... I don't know if you'll able to see them with your naked eye... But I think you won't. Can you get a Sarin report for these 2 diamonds?? It would be very helpful!!

Here is a link that describes asschers: http://www.chubbcollectors.com/Vacnews/index.jsp?form=2&ArticleId=25

The one thing I remember from my research on asschers is the table is not large and the depth is quite deep. In those terms alone (which are not enough) the .9 might be better. It is possible that the large stone has too big a table.

I'm sure an expert will chime in and help you.

Best of luck - they are a gorgeous stone in photographs - I've yet to see one in person. I wanted very much to buy one but because of the way they are cut, you have to pay quite a bit to get one as large as I would like.

I have to say, I dont know the 1st thing about this cut at all. What I do recommend is you contacting Jan at Diamond Brokers of Florida (diamondbrokersofflorida.com). Jan owns & wears an Asscher so I think she would be a good person to get some opinions from.

The cut is nice, but be advised that if you want the Royal Asscher look, the crown should be higher (13% - 17%) and the table smaller (in the mid/high 50s)...
Follow Judy's advice, as Jan owns a gorgeus Asscher ring and definitely will be able to help you!!!
