I''m going to try and post a few pics, hope the files arent too large. Please take into account, I took the pics using sub par equipment and there is some lint showing. I dont have experise as shown from some of the pics. I have purchased the diamond...but please feel free to give you''re opinion. The stone really is beautiful under natural light, much better than I thought it would. Lots of sparkle but hopefully you can see that in the 8 bit blk/white photo''s without proper lighting...again...sorry if the photo''s are large :)

Please give me your thoughts, all of of my Pricescope searches turned out to be 10k-11.5k

Regards,
Matt

The numbers are good. But I almost think the price is slightly high. I''d check with PS vendors.

Kris,

You''re right. The searches today came out to be a G at ex ,ex..$8500. When I did a search earlier in the week, they did have some F''s, ex, ex at 10k-10.5k. Would that make sense, going from a G to an F for $1500 more, rougly 19% more ?

Does the pic look all that bad?...hahahahah...I tried my best( credit goes out to the pro''s, much harder taking pics than ya think) and once I get it mounted I''ll get some outside pics...Hahahaha

Thanks and regards,
Matt

shoot it against a black or dark blue background pls.

Strm,

You''re killing me. I was a nervouse wreck carrying that too work

looks good soo far in the goofy lighting.
The dark background is too check for a specific issue.
If it looks good too you, nice even patterns and a ton of fire in direct light your good too go.

Strm,

It''s goofing lighting because I did it. I can now appreciate the set-up alot of the dealers and pro- photo peeps use now. I will try to get a few pics of the stone with a blk back drop. Your opinion is appreciated as well as everyone else.

Regards,

Matt

PS...I was amased at the light put off compared to some of the other step cuts I had seen in the mall stores. Buyt the way Strm, I think you would appreciate the price I paid

fluorescent lighting works well for capturing patterns which I''m interested in seeing.
But honestly if the patterns look good too you and with your hand blocking the back of the stone its still just as bright then your good too go. (which is why the dark background, check for light coming from the back of the stone making it look better than it is)
I don''t see anything that indicates that''s a problem in the pics but its always good too be sure if possible.

Strm,

This is what I did:

I used a Zeiss microscope ( forget the power it was on, who am I kidding, I didnt check...was just looking for a clear pic.

I set the .jpeg for a gray scale of 8 bitvs 24 bit was too large.
I used a white paper with a small hole in it to set the stone.10-1.5 ", then took out the keeper hole to the Zeiss and put a white papaer in the bottom( just in case). The pictures that you see all had lighting from the top and nothing from the bottom, so, there was no light coming from the bottom portion.

Matt

I did have trouble because of the software. I had trouble as you can see getting the software to zero out the "white". So , everything or at least some look flourecent.

ah that explains the lighting and the extreme headshadow.
Your good too go, kicken!

btw... Zeiss microscope ... sub-par?!? lol
less than optimal for what you wanted too achieve but far from sub-par lol

Strm,

Zeiss is awesome....and it''s only limited to the ability of the user...mua...LOL

I can imagine there are so many tricks to the trade coming up with good quality pics and I can appreciate the knowledge base. Obviously, I dont have it...hte pics I am use to taking are not as detailed....so many facets, lighting, angles etc etc..

Matt

Strm,

I tried what you suggested. I put it in 8 bit grey scale again because of file size w/ 24 bit, used a blk drop and my lighting still stinks. Then again, it may not be the lighting, I just dont have any training for this type of think or reference of what to look for.

good job on the pic its kicken

Oooooooooooooooh I love it. The spread has me drooling. From the pics it looks very nice too. If it''s a bright happy stone with even steps, I''d snatch that puppy up! LOVE the spread.

Gypsy,

Thank you Gypsy. I bought that puppy when I first saw it, now all I need to get is a mount. This puppy reallly sparkles. I dont see many asschers/ step cuts where Im from, the light just jumps of it.

How are you gonna set it? I''ve got a really lovely asscher and I can tell you... the right setting makes SUCH a difference. I had mine set in an X prong that did so little for it and now it''s prong set above a bright halo that reflects even MORE light into it and its amazing. And asscher-girl''s asscher is set in prongs that allow a TON of light in and hers is just lovely and so eye-catching on it''s thin pave band.

Do you have any pics of those types of seetings or links?

Thank you soooooooooooooooo much for the idea !!!

M

Gypsy,

Both those settings are very very nice. Thank you so much for you''re help.
