ASETs here - please help me choose

thanks everyone in this forum in advance for your replies. the time has come to choose a princess cut for my soon to be fiance. on the recommendation of everyone here i narrowed my list to GOG, JamesAllen, and WF. i am posting as much as i can about each stone and hope to get some feedback. there will be 2 WF stones, 1 GOG, and 3 JA:

WF #1 - 1.37ct, 6.09x6.08x4.36, G, VS1, 71.5 depth, 70.0 table, Polish-EX, Symmetry-EX, Girdle-slightly thick to thick
WF #1 - 1.244ct, 5.91x5.77x4.21, F, VS1, 72.9 depth, 70.3 table, Polish-Ideal, Symmetry-Ideal, Girdle-medium to slightly thick

GOG - 1.28ct, 5.81x5.98x4.35, H, VS1, 74.9 depth, 68.6 table, Polish-EX, Symmetry-VG, Girdle-slightly thick

JA #1 - 1.27ct, 6.04x5.82x4.29, E, VS2, 73.7 depth, 70.0 table, Polish-EX, Symmetry-EX, Girdle-medium to slightly thick
JA #2 - 1.38ct, 6.12x6.07x4.45, E, VS1, 73.3 depth, 70.0 table, Polish-VG, Symmetry-EX, Girdle-thin to medium

Maybe try removing the special characters from your filenames, and make sure they are original names each time you try to repost them?

GOG has best cut followed by WF #1.
You could just link to the actual stones no need to post attach the ASET.

They are all excellent, the GOG from the ASET image has the edge but this is only part of the equation. Which to choose also depends on personal preference and budget.

General Q Is choosing a princess based on ASET alone really good policy? Because the stones are at diffeent vendors you cannot ask one person to compare them all and have their opionion to supplement. Since set up seems to affect ASET images so much, it makes me wary.

agreed that the asets are only part of the decision. i was looking at the prices i have and that will definitely be a consideration; however, i was hoping the knowledgable minds in this forum could help read the asets and offer an opinion since i''m a newbie at this.

The GOG ASET is to me the best out of the three, however the others are not far behind. The thing is that static images such as ASET, although useful, do not tell us much about the actual performance, characteristics and personality of the stone. Nor can it account for the personal taste of the purchaser.

If it were possible, you could have all three diamonds lined up for you to inspect and choose from, you might be completely drawn to the diamond you thought you would like least. So although the ASET can tell you the diamond has an excellent basic '' recipe'' of ingredients and is likely to make a beautiful dish, only tasting the dish or by seeing the stones in person can you really tell which is the best one for you.

As the above scenario isn''t possible as the stones are from different vendors, you will have to choose according to all the info you have available. But bear in mind, you are choosing from three very well cut diamonds and you are covered by a solid return policy from each vendor in the rare chance you were not happy.

How much less expensive are the JA stones? I ask because the ASET is not definitive and if the price difference is large it could be worth trying to get more information on those diamonds from JA. Ask the gemeologist at JA to give you a comparative assessment of the three contenders, perhaps have the best JA diamond and the chosen WF/GOG diamond sent to a local appraiser to view and decide if the price difference is warranted.

The JA stones are actually in the middle cost wise for the stone. The gemologist recommended the 1.27ct so I currently have that one on hold. I am also ordering a custom setting and band so I am waiting on cost information for that as well since i want to evaluate the total cost from all 3 vendors.

Well, if the price is not much different, I would stick with WF or GOG since they seem to have beter ASETs. They have better policies too.
