ASET Opinions

Hello-
I have received ASET photos on 3 different cushion modified brilliant cut diamonds. I have not seen any of them in person as I’m trying to use the ASET/GIA to decide which ones (if any) are worth shipping so I can view. I would appreciate any opinions on which one is better or if I need to start over.
Thank you!

Which facet patterning do you prefer? The stronger, structured faceting on the third one or the 'crushed ice' pattern of the first?

'Crushed ice' stones don't usually have very good ASET images, AIUI, but @Rockdiamond should be able to confirm whether I am correct in this thinking (even if he cannot comment on these stones).

#3 has the best ASET between 2 and 3. I actually think the ASET for 1 is pretty good, but I'd like to see a video of that to be sure the IRL is attractive. What is your diamond budget?

I am looking for what I think is called “X factor”, more similar to a round cut look. I do not like the crushed ice effect. If the top ASET is giving that effect I’m wondering if it is correct, the video does not imply that it’s crushed ice.

All 3 have the same style of GIA plot. I had seen on another thread here to look for this style if you don’t want crushed ice.

Budget $20,000.

Included this so as to see if there is value or are they overpriced
#1 $18,740
#2 $20,000 (is already set in platinum)
#3 $19,340

Ah yes, I see the 'X' now.

If that is the ASET and it's correctly captured, it looks like it's very(!) leaky in the middle, which would make it a No from me.

EDIT: I've just looked at the video for the first one - I don't understand why the ASET is so uncoloured in the centre when the video seems to show dark areas of obstruction (which would be blue on the ASET) and crisp faceting. Weird.

I contacted the vendor regarding the ASET for #1 diamond since it didn’t appear to match the video image. They sent the wrong one, and mixed the other up so #3 is really #1. They also sent a #4 & #5 option.

I am a little nervous now but if I decide to have any of these shipped to view,
1. Would I be able to duplicate these images if I purchased an ASET scope
2. Is it offensive to offer a local jeweler a fee to view/scope them

No ASET available

#4 has the strongest ASET of the bunch - mostly red which is desirable. Usually we see some more green throughout like the other 2 ASETs. #4 has slightly more contrast than the others but I'd still take that in exchange for the strong light performance the stone has all around.
