The local jeweller i'm getting it from is telling me its as good as BlueNile Signature or Whiteflash ACA,
Is it true ?

stunning.

Yep, it's gorgeous! There is something really cool about a colorless and flawless stone, but do you know that you could substantially increase the ct weight and purchase a stone that visually will look the same? I'm asking because many people, especially shopping locally, are taught that in order for a stone to be beautiful it must also be colorless and of high clarity. It seems you are already aware of the importance of cut and have found a gorgeous stone, but I just wanted to be sure that you were aware that a F color and VS clarity will look identical without a 10x loupe and you could save significantly or increase the stones weight. Again just food for thought. Regardless this will be a very beautiful stone and if you purchase it, be sure to post pics!

Hi

The Image is awesome however as Christina mentioned you could find the stone which looks visually the same in F/VS quality,
have you considered that? you could go for bigger size stone with same money.

^QFT.

But, the ASET is awesome. I'd go larger and drop color and especially clarity. (F-G, VS1)

We can't compare it to an ACA without seeing the hearts images with an idealscope. But it certainly compares with AGS ideal cut.

Like the others, though, I'd go to the F VS level to get a larger stone.

Thanks for all the advise ! I'm super happy that the stone is great ! Spent alot of time searching through before deciding to give this a try ! With regards to the color and clarity. Well for the color, I did bring her to a number of shops to have a look (She doesn't know i bought this yet, she thinks i'm still looking ! ) And of course the sale people recommended a lower color as well. To prove their point, they did a blind test with numerous stones, and she was always able to pick out the F from the E, but not the D from the E. As i mentioned in my first post, she's a visual artist by trade and trained in fine arts so she may be more color sensitive then most.

With regards to the Clarity, Yep, i know that most stones of VS clarity and above are eye-clean. Its more of a mind-clean thing on my side. I'm from Singapore, and honestly we're (gf and me) are not very rich. I just wana get her the best quality I can afford for now. To us the engagement ring is more symbolic rather then ornamental as we tend to wear our wedding bands alone more often then together with the e-ring. Which was why, for this occasion i hoped to get her an IF ring. In the future when i can afford it, when i get her one which she's gona wear more often, i'll definitely get her a bigger one of the VS clarity ! Thanks for all your concern and advise ! I really really appreciate it ! I'll most likely get this stone :) Its only about USD 4k+++, but its really all i can afford for now.

Now i still got to think about the setting ! Her fingers pretty slim at US Size 3 1/2 to 4 which was also another reason why i wasn't looking at a bigger diamond.

I think it's sweet that you want to buy her an IF stone. My DH thought he was being all romantic the other day and said something to the effect that, if I were a diamond I would be a D VVS1. huh? VVS1? In his defense he though he thought that was the highest clarity grade....well that's what he claimed anyway. ;))

I think that 4k is a healthy budget! Have you seen the 'show me the bling' thread with photos of all the rings that PSers have purchased for under $5000? I'm always so impressed when I look at it, there are some extremely resourceful PSer out there. :)) You may find a setting that you really like in that thread, or the much larger 'engagement ring' thread. Did she have a strong preference toward a certain style when you went shopping together? Halo vs Solitaire? Contemporary vs Antique? There are some posters here that are absolutely incredible at finding gorgeous settings. If you let us know what you are looking for, we can help make suggestions within your budget.

Congrats on finding the one...both the diamond and the fiance! Can't wait to see how the ring comes together! Oh....and I'm extremely jealous of her teeny fingers!!
