Finally - although the tracking hasn''t worked at all!!!! - about an hour ago, this was delivered!

As a reminder, I posted soon after buying https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/santa-maria-aqua-cats-eye-cab.134697/

I''m not disappointed and actually it''s much better than I thought it would be - slightly greyer but then I had expected that! So, without further ado ............ photos!!!

This one is taken in shade and shows the lovely blue of the gem. This is how it looks like normally and it doesn''t show the cat''s eye.

This one gives you an idea of size. You can see the cat''s eye (just) and this is under normal kitchen lighting (not particularly bright or dim).

A close up - again, in normal kitchen lighting. I did try to take a picture using strong lighting but couldn''t hold the camera, light and gem without getting shadows so you''ll have to believe me that you can see the cat''s eye better in strong lighting!

Last one. This is against a white background.

ah, i''m glad you like it.

i think that''s a good result, not quite as good as the vendor pic though, boo!

will you keep it?

Its nice. Not as bright as the picture, but nice.

Yes I will keep it because it''s still very pretty, I didn''t pay a lot and these are not easy to find! In all honesty, I could probably replicate the colour in the vendor''s photos by using different lighting because there is a lot of blue in this stone (not really shown in my pictures) but I''d rather show you how it looks to me!

BTW Michael E said that the cat''s eye would probably shimmer in and out and it does just that!

I like it. Its really pretty!

It''s pretty and I''m glad the eye shows up well too. Are you going to set it?

I really like it, too! Do you have plans for it? I think the eye looks awesome.

I love it LD!

If you decide you don''t want it afterall you could send it to me.

I can picture it with my orange opal cab as stackers. I think they''d look good together.

Something tells me they''ll have to look good apart though.

Oh I think it''s very pretty and I really like it! Will you set it?

LD,
That''s a huge stone.

What are your plans for it?

not bad for the price ehh? and I love the softness of the color.

Very pretty!

It''s very pretty and I can see the eye too.

Congratulations! Beautiful stone.
Read something about Santa Marias - they are rare and very pretty.

Its very pretty and translucent. Aqua cabs can be so gray sometimes, this one at least looks more blue which helps a lot once its set

So what ARE you going to do with it?

-A

Thank you everyone!

I have absolutely NO idea whether I want to set this or not!

I''m going to live with it for a while before making any decision.

If anybody has some ideas I''m listening!

thanks so much for the update! i really like the color!

Well, even not matching the vendor photo to a T, it''s still really pretty! Will you do a pendant maybe or just play with it for a while first?

Not too bad a colour; at least it turned out better than I expected.

Very nice. It''s got me thinking about aqua cabs for myself now.

Very pretty cab LD!

I really really like the color, cat''s eye or not! It''s lots bigger than I expected too, congrats!

very nice LD..your pics are pretty good also

I really like the color! I think it would make a nice pendant due to it''s size but I''m not sure that that setting would show off the cat''s eye. TFS!!
