I'm having DanielM set a pink tourmaline for me and I want it to be a ring that's fairly durable and something I can wear frequently. I originally was going to go with a 2mm U prong design, but I have a couple of spare small side stone diamonds that I thought about setting in it as well.
So I have several questions. Is argentium silver sturdy enough to handle frequent/daily wear? Is it suitable for diamonds? Is 2mm too thin? Should I go with a rose gold head and argentium shank? Ack! The diamonds would be burnish set into the shank if I have them set in it and the shank would be slightly wider, probably closer to 3mm...I don't know what that looks like, but I'm off to google it now.
It's my first official ring setting so I apologize for all of the questions, but after the stone cutting debacle I wanted to beg for PS input!
