I picked Burberrygirl because I went through a phase of only buying Burberry purses, plus I love their scarves! My real name is Marley, my nicknames used to be Mar or Mar Mar. I absolutely hated when people would call me Mar Mar

Fun! Nope, not a packrat. JD is, tho. When I decided to join, I''d been lurking for a while and noticed that most posters didn''t use their names, so I tried to come up w/something and after a few tries happening to already be in use, I got ticked and thought whatever, I''ll type this in for crying out loud-my mom was calling herself a packrat earlier, and it was in my head (she''s not one either) and I''ll be damned if it wasn''t accepted. I thought aw crap, why couldn''t I have come up w/something different? Ah well!

So I am not the only one thinking about relatives. Makes me feel better.

. Kama means ''Desire'' in Sanskrit. Not just in the passionate way that we know (i.e. kamasutra, which essentially means the ''book of desire''), but desire for anything - be it knowledge, love, nirvana etc etc. It''s supposed to be one of the four goals in life according to the Hindu scriptures. I''ve loved the meaning of the word since I was little.


I initially signed onto PS with just ''Kama'', forgot I signed up and tried to re-register with that name. Obviously got the message that it was already taken, so I added my first name''s initial to it!

I thought it was Kamasutra and liked it. It is a great book. My ex-BF was a practicing Hindu and there were many interesting books in his house. I started reading Krishnamurti but then we broke up.

I haven''t read the books in the last couple of years and I''m losing my store of ridiculous trivia.

I always liked Elrohwen because it was tweaked from the actual name (and pretty obscure in the first place) so it''s always available, unlike Eowyn or something.

Well, my name is a not-terribly-clever play on my name AND the fact that I sing.

Maybe one day I''ll use some screen name that is very clever...

El, I''ve read them all, or mostly all. My mom even got me The Silmarillion when it first came out in 1977, which does date me a bit, yes? It has the highly-desirable fold out map of Middle Earth before Beleriand was drowned. Cool stuff. Anyway, I''ve read The Unfinished Tales, Morgoth''s Ring, The Lays of Beleriand, The Peoples of Middle Earth, The Children of Hurin, The Book of Lost Tales I and II, a few others, and somewhere in the deep dark recesses, I even have the Tolkien Reader, although I''d be hard pressed to remember any that one.

I do promise I''m normal though: I don''t bore friends, or think I''m Galadriel, or any of that rot. I just liked his writing, and thought his world was cool. LOTR is my favorite dog-earred book to pull out and read when I''m sick. A comfort book....

Mine is fairly simple. Red because I have red hair, and faerythinker is to signify this tattoo that I saw once of a fairy whose wings were not so pretty and she was deep in thought. And I thought it was a lot like me so it stuck with me. And the spelling of faery is a hybridized Irish-English spelling because I''m American of recent Irish descent.

I like the original / different screen names, fun to try to figure out.

Every time I see arjunajane''s sn I see marijuana - but like it''s some nickname like Mary J. Juana or Mary Jane. But I always see 5 green leaves regardless lol

Mine is also a nickname for my dog. I have two- Charlie and Buddy. Sometimes it just comes out "Charbie!" and they both look at me. My dog just happened to be sitting next to me when I signed up, otherwise who knows what my name would be...(stapler...pencil...printer...glue stick?)
