guys,

You are all right. You are. And believe me when I tell you, I keep telling myself that I will handle it the day of, because nobody is taking that day away from me, from us. I think deep inside, it's just disappointing that some of those people close to us could bring negativity or problems even on our wedding day.

It does help to see that we are all dealing with the same issues in one way or another.

And Indy, that was FUNNY, and it sounds like a PLAN.

oobiecoo - can I borrow him for my wedding too? haha

moonwater - does that mean you'll only have 4 guests at your wedding? or you're only worried about 4 guests?

I'm only going to have four guests at my wedding. It was going to be small anyway, we're looking at an elopement package, but we are allowed to have up to 10 guests. I just didn't want to deal with any friction at all on the day I got married so I limited it to the 4 people closest to us that we knew would not cause any issue. We'll have a big party for everyone 2 days afterwards. I won't care what happens then because it won't be the same day, thus the memory won't be tainted.

You girls are so funny.

I am only worried about my real dad who seems to have an extremely low tolerance, but will keep going and going like the energizer bunny. He has been great about drinking the last couple of years, but at my engagement party last weekend, he was a little clingy. There''s a picture of FI and I thanking everyone for coming, and there''s my dad right next to me just hovering. I hope he doesn''t do that at the wedding. It''s irritating. I know he thinks I''m wonderful, but he doesn''t need to remind everyone that I''m his daughter.

Oh and here''s the pic just for laughs. (This was our southern themed/crawfish boil party which explains our attire).

I''m mostly worried about my mom. She just has a way of ruining everyone''s good time at every event that she has ever been to. She also knows exactly how to push my buttons and get me to react to her...so I''m worried about turning into an angry sobbing mess during the reception. We actually haven''t talked in over a week because due to me catching her in another one of her lies/manipulative strategies. It''s 50/50 with her...either she''ll be "normal" during the wedding, or she''ll make everyone miserable.

Courtney--your party looked so much fun!!! You know, FI and I love crawfish boils...and I don''t think we live that far from you...

BTW, why keep the xanax to yourself? My sister (I think it was her?) suggested providing a generous dose to Crazy Aunt F and then finding her a comfortable place to rest for the evening, thereby circumventing any problems.

Have you considered that strategy?

OK, I know, that is HORRIBLE! But a leettle bit funny too.

I find this useful in everyday life! haha

All of them. My parents will be meeting DF''s parents for the first time. Then there''s FBIL, who mumbles and doesn''t interact. Since it''s just immediate family (and none of our friends), do we have to let FBIL have a "plus one?"

Hmm...yes my parents.

They separated almost 3 years ago, and my dad is very bitter towards my mother (who left him for another man)...I mean, I understand and all but they did NOT have a happy marriage. My mom asked to go to counseling time and time again, but my dad refused.

So, I''m inviting my mom''s boyfriend (the same man) as my mom''s date. I know him well and like him, and I would feel bad about not including him. My mom''s sisters took my dad''s side immediately and have given her hell about it for 3 years now. my wedding will be the first time they meet my mom''s bf and I know they won''t be happy about it. I don''t even know if I can sit her own family at the same table as her.

Also, my dad''s family is upset with my mom still and do not talk to her, so I''m thinking...where the heck am I going to put my own mother where she won''t feel ostracized?? I just feel bad for her, I guess. I''m not agreeing with what she did but I would have left my father too if I were in her shoes.

Here''s to one more year of hoping my dad lessens his hatred to my mother...

Courtney, you and your fiancee make such a great-looking couple! Looks like you were having such a great time. It''s so funny how the picture captured what you''re saying, with your dad is just "lurking" there in the corner. haha

Indy, BTW, you cracked me up with your Aunt F. post.

Moonwater, you''ve got the right idea with only 4 guests! haha

Looks like everyone has SOMEONE they''re somewhat concerned about. I hope everyone deals with it well, so that we can ALL come back here and say we had a wonderful wedding. It would be nice to hear that from EVERYONE!

PSERS unite! haha

Wow, lucky, I could have written that exact same post. I am truly only worried about my mother ruining my day, for many of the same reasons. I am afraid she is going to ruin what little of a relationship we have by doing something unforgivable at my wedding. She just loves to push people''s buttons and then ignore the situation like she never did a thing...this is what my brother and I have dealt with all our lives. He doesn''t put up with it, but I am the one who is always trying to pacify her and make things better...it gets old.

I have told my girls and my FMIL that their job is to keep her as far away from me as possible until at least after the ceremony. I don''t even think I will tell her my room number at the resort...just let her try to find me!

And since I have just had my second episode of Shingles in less than a year and a half, I just can''t deal with the stress, obviously, though no one would know it in my everyday life till I break out in a lovely rash! I am going to speak with my dr. about possibly getting the Shingles Vaccine as well as a round of anti-virals to take with me *just in case* anything happens to my face in Maui...ugh! Maybe I should try the Xanax, too! (Or, slip MY MOM the mickey so she just can''t say much of anything! I always thought Indy was a genius on that one!)

I love your picture, Courtney! You and your FI are super cute! Thanks for sharing!
