Are these prong weird or is it just me?

I got my diamond set this weekend and the prongs look strange to me. First, is it normal for them to put the prongs that far over the diamond? When I looked at the sample the store had from the designer, the prongs were much further back. Second, does the right two prongs look unsymmetrical? I might just be staring at it too long but some other eyes would be nice before I go ask them to correct it.

Sorry for the dirty diamond, been touching it too much :)

Yes, the top left prong looks huge and the rest do look off to me...can you take it back and express your concerns? Will they fix it?

I am going to ask why they look so different. I would assume they would fix it but I have no idea.

Yeah that's just ...... clunky. A little more finesse is needed... definitely need to be more delicate.

Here are some images from the sample:

It isn't just you, they do seem unusually long to me and somewhat off center. I'm a little OCD so that would definitely bother me...good luck getting them fixed. I hope they take care doing it..

Did they say they were going to make the diamond fit the setting or just put one in an existing setting?

Different settings that are pre-made come with different size prongs, and also some of them may be sample rings set with cz's that were set by someone else. If you ever buy a setting and want your prongs done a certain way, you need to request that beforehand to see if they are able to do it. Not all jewelers have the capability of making perfect prongs like we sometimes see here. But I'd want those redone. The main question is, can the person who set it like that do a better job the second try or not???

I could deal with the prong length and it actually might not be too terrible. My girlfriend is a nurse and is concerned about it banging and falling out, but what I didn't find acceptable was the fact that they are not symmetrical.

They ordered it with my diamond specs so the head would be made to fit.. that is what is troubling. I am.Going to go talk to them tomorrow. I at least want the prongs straight but is it even possible to grind down the prongs?
