On the AGS report, I notice feathers in 2 corners of this diamond..

Is this reason enough not to buy it? I've read the diamond could crack.

Thanks all!

Anyone is welcome to respond, of course, but I think most experts will indicate that only a professional with the diamond in-hand can provide an answer: The largest plotted feather could be completely internal while a very small one could pose a risk, depending on particulars.

Brian Gavin examined the diamond and they are closed feathers. These are often caused by crystals that expanded inside the diamond while it formed. They pose no durability risk, since the diamond will never see the extremes of pressure and friction it did during the cutting process in everyday wear.

With that said, if it's a ‘mind clean’ thing for you there are diamonds with no feathers.

Won''t the prongs in the settings cover these areas anyway?

Thanks John!

mark, you still haven''t bought a diamond yet?

Tell me about it Belle! This is getting ridiculous...

So, about those prongs?

i don''t know about how the prongs will cover the feathers, you will have to ask wf since they have the diamond. i really don''t think you need to worry about it even. i have a feather (maybe even two, i can''t remember!) but i can''t see it (them?) at all. the good thing about feathers is, they are clear/white!
