So my engagement ring is finished.
I had selected some pink diamonds, that to me were clearly pink when they weren't yet set. However, once set in platinum, they are looking almost purple to me, instead of the pink I was expecting.
These are pictures, under different lightings, of the pink diamonds when they weren't set yet. Clearly pink, at least to me:

And these are pictures of the diamonds once set in the ring, that look purplish to me:

And it looks a pale lilac under a different lighting:

I haven't seen the ring in person yet, pictures and videos is all I have. I know purplish diamonds are even more sought after than pink diamonds, but I feel a little disappointed because pink is my favourite colour while I feel a little bit bleh about purple/lilac.
I feel stupid because I gave the ok to the pink diamonds, without thinking that them being set in platinum could make them look greyer, thus them ending look more purplish instead of pink. Almost all of the pink diamonds I've seen were set in rose gold, so apart from thinking that setting them in platinum could make them look paler, I didn't think it would alter the hue.
I've thought about asking the jeweller to exchange the diamonds for others that are more pink looking, but I'm also deadly afraid of them leaning orange, and besides, I don't feel confident about being able to predict how the hue will be altered once they are set. I also don't know if it be possible to do that without damaging the setting, and it would be a huge amount of work for the jeweller, which I feel guilty about.
I don't know, I guess I'm looking for reassurance that this one thing won't be always bothering me, because the ring is absolutely perfect otherwise.
