hello all,

i've got these pictures to help me gauge the setting before ordering and do those claws on the table look huge to you? granted its my first ER so i am not sure if they are of normal size or not, but i just dont want them to be too big compared to the stone...

thanks!

how large is the diamond?

I wouldn't have noticed them unless you pointed it out.
Even then I'd definitely say they are not gigantic.
They just look substantial, which I like in something expected to hold something so small and precious.

BTW, and they are not on the table or even touching it.

Lovely diamond and ring!
Looks like a real fireball in, IMO, the ultimate classic solitaire setting.

it's a 1.36ct.

sorry i meant to say the girdle...i agree with you that to hold something that expensive, it'd better be strong but still, i wouldn't want them to look too big on the rock...that'd look weird...

Maybe the one at 6 o'clock looks a tad big but in general, no, I think they look great and are perfect for your diamond.

No not at all. It will be small IRL.

Look pretty normal to me.

I scaled the pic down a bit to give an idea of what it will look like IRL - I think they look fine!

They look great to me.

Thanks everyone!!! that's comforting to know that they all look alright to you guys. I know I could really be splitting hair here but just wanted to make sure I get everything covered. :wavey:

I don't think you will notice them in person. That ring looks beautiful!

Arr…one more question, tell me if I am wrong, but I assume that the claws aren’t supposed to cover the arrows right? I noticed that the claws are indeed partially covering the arrows at 2 and 4 o clocks. That is NOT normal right?

Gosh…I have OCD when it comes to making expensive stuff…

join the club

They look perfect to me.

They look great. You can't orient 6 prongs around an RB to leave ALL 8 arrows totally uncovered. The setter did a very nice job keeping them mostly uncovered. In real life you can't see arrows like in that image anyway.

I agree with dreamer. Pictures are going to be magnified and you'll end up nitpicking everything. Just wait until you get the ring and take a look then.

I think it looks great, btw.

Prongs gotta cover something.
There is nothing 'special' about the arrowheads that they should not be covered.

Enjoy your beautiful diamond and ring.

They aren't LM, SK claw prongs but they are fine. Not too big.

THANK YOU so much everyone for your comment! that really eases my crazy nerve. i am probably way toooo used to looking at the rock at some 30x magnification all the time and think the real thing is that big! (altho i wish)

should be arriving next week...anxiousssss!

Now if you really want some fun, post a list of things about your man and ask us which are wrong.

Hahahah...unfortunately i am the man who is trying to buy a ER for his gf so i m gonna say this man is pretty awesome dude lol!!!

I actually prefer the arrowheads be covered by the prong, especially in my 8-prong stuff.

You made a great choice! It looks great! Now throw away your loupe!

thanks everyone for your help!!!

i will definitely share my joy with you guys once i get it!!

hopefully it is THE ONE so i can end my 7-month endless pursue!!

Looks nice. The orientation and placement of the prongs were done with care and considerations.
