Are you still thinking of pave? Because I think that on Etsy its more limiting if you're looking for pave than if you're looking for prongs. Contact CHenry, Caroline is really amazing and prong set a ruby for me last year.

I just heard back from CHenry - apparently they don't like doing prong work, so you've got a one-of-a-kind!

OoShiney, I will take a picture for you! I looked through our old convos but couldn't find the pictures that Caroline sent me. Its a small ruby set in a semi mount I bought online, and Caroline did a really terrific job setting the stone.

Most things in her shop are bezeled but this ring is in prongs and I like the workmanship. It is not cheap but there is 18-ct gold and also many stones... Do you think she can make something custom-ordered?

I'm not sure about the ring, is it meant to be deliberately rustic looking? The price is rather high.

Anyway, I have zero luck with custom jewelry last year, this case is the not the worst I've experienced.

LG - maybe you are right about the "rustic look". Also, I remember all your plights and can not tell you how sorry I am especially for one stone... Let us hope these rings come out well, since you deserve the best ones!

And I can not comment on the price, but this jeweler seems to be pretty interesting. I wanted to use him to set my CC garnet but then realized that the prongs may be too heavy for the stone. However, he appears to make decent prongs and is very easy to communicate with. I plan to try him - eventually, when I am ready for a new project.
