Are some diamond cuts hardier than others?

Hi,

This may be a dumb question since they are made of the same material but are some diamond cuts hardier than others?

Asking because I’m debating between an eternity band with .05 round vs. an eternity band with .12 east west set emerald cut stones.

I know channel setting or bezels would protect the stones more, but not as into that look. (Prefer U prong or something similar.)

toss up between those 2 assuming reasonable sized girdles.
Princess cuts and a lesser extent marques and pears are the problem childs.
