I thought you were busy accidentally buying rough diamonds, polishing them, and turning all your leftover diamond powder (from the equipment you didn't post a pic of per a poster's request) into large diamonds.

IOW ....

Yes (good) rubies are expensive and no, you’re not likely to make money off selling them unless you’ve got access to a LOT of rough, cutters you’re paying a low wage to and a supply chain wanting your stones. Do some research, even just googling, into the gemstone industry. While there is money to be made, it’s never easy and it’s seldom by novices who don’t know anything about the stones or the process.

If you have contacts in the gem industry and can buy your rubies wholesale and you have sufficient knowledge and experience to buy suitable gems at an economical price AND you are an experienced and talented goldsmith / jewelery designer AND you have the ability to market your creations ie web site etc - Yes, you can make good money buying gems and setting them into jewelry.
Otherwise - no.

Kenny if I'm annoying you can really ignore me and you can choose to not even read my posts. I'm asking questions. You really should do more productive things. Trolling me is not worth it

Money in rubies? Unlikely unless, as others have said, you have extensive knowledge and contacts.

I hear there’s money to be made in alchemy though - maybe that’s worth you researching?....

I think it’s somewhere between No and Bwahahaha. Or maybe yes. There’s money to be made selling gems and jewelry, and I know people who do it every day. They’re called jewelers, and it’s a HARD way to make a buck. Put bluntly, it’s easy to buy; it’s hard to sell. Rubies, to use your example, range from $10/pound to over $1M/ct. Can you tell the difference? Do you have customers who can, and who will trust you as a source? The above-mentioned jewelers spend fortunes in advertising and decades of hard work to hook up with buyers of such things. If you’ve got ‘em, more power to you, but I have my doubts.

Would you be wise to go into jewelry manufacturing? Who knows? There are people who make good money at that too, although they’re tough to find these days. There seem to be more people getting out of this business than getting in. Good luck with it. Given your total lack of product or industry knowledge, I think you might be ‘wise’ to proceed cautiously.

I'm waiting for a question about fusing ruby dust.

Seriously OP, only those who really know gemstones and suppliers can make any money selling them. I'm guessing that you are not included in this category.

If you are looking for a quick way to make a buck, I think investing in bitcoin is a better option. I’ve been a loyal follower of this forum for over a year and have learned a ton, but I wouldn’t dare venture into the trade as there is still a ton I do not know, and it’s a
Crowded space with great talents already

It's sounds like you have an interest in gems. Maybe look into a trade program or apprenticeship for becoming a lapidary.

For those of you are snooping and asking about my previous question regarding fusing diamond dust. I really think it is a legit question. As a student of science I observe and ask questions. If it bothers you so much then please **** off. I totally hate these condescending remarks.

The people here have a sense of humor, so you're bound to attract some 'clever' responses (ymmv). Nevertheless, people in those threads have given time and energy to provide relevant answers.

Flame fusion rubies are a thing, and were first made in the 19th century. For a while they were trendy and were put it high end jewelery. Now they're dirt cheap of course, but there are some gorgeous pieces out there. If you're up to learning the antiques business of course.
