I was just wondering..from reading some previous posts, I can see
that some people take great pleasure in cutting the hair in 2 parts...

G or H is fine,
WG or platinum is fine,
4,5,6,7,8 or why not 12 prongs is fine,
Side stones or not is fine,
58 or 59% table is ok,
Leather seats in my car or not are ok,
Vanilla or pear ice cream is fine for me,
2 x 50$ bills or 5 x 20$ bills is the same for me,
a 50% empty glass or a 50% full glass is the same for me,

so please, try to be realistic....

as long as you stay away from the poorly cut stones, guys, believe me,
your fiance will love it....... and you''ll get plenty of kisses in return.

Good point, Trichome

I think its so easy to get wrapped up in the minutia (especially online with nothing real in front of you) that you get bogged down in the details. With such an emotional desicion, everybody wants it to be 'perfect', and its easy to obsess about things that really don't matter or are 'in the noise'. (...But this diamond has a 'slightly' better scintillation value on the B-scope...)
Its something I've been thinking about for a while. All of us newbies get so much info to sort through, its hard to discern whats really important/significant and whats not. An inherant danger of such a forum where people have access to tools without the experience to know how to use them or what the extent of their usefulness is(I'm speaking primarily about myself here). Its a cheap, fast, free education, and you get what you pay for.

That being said, I'm soooo grateful to this site. I know I made a much better purchase than I would have without it.

Mara,

I can't make any other comment on this subject...otherwise, if my
lady starts looking at my posts, I'll be better dead than alive

Sorry Trichrome, but anyone who visits a diamond site multiple times a day when he/she is not planning on buying jewelry is bound to be obsessive. Goes with the territory!

You have a sense of humor...and here I thought you were a grouch :)

Yes, some diamond buyers as well as diamond vendors get a little caught up in the insignificant details.

interesting perspective on everything. i agree with you that as long as you get a well cut stone it will...err...ROCK! (pun intended)

some people do tend to get a little compulsive...but i guess it comes from the fact of spending lots of change on a lump of sparkly carbon. they just don't wanna get taken (as can happen all too easily as you know...especially at mauls) and get the most for their money. freaks people out, ya know?

i like your abridged version though, i must admit.

This forum has made me a compulsive freak. Ask my almost-fiance. Fortunately he thinks it's cute

Yes esp as your sight begins to fail as you grow older and suddenly that 1c looks like a 5c with all the blur around it.

Mara, It's not just the sight that goes
The MIND goes with it too!!!
What's important when we are younger
Just fades into the blue!

(we may turn "gray", but the diamond will stay!)

Stephan,

To answer your question :

I'll go for VVS1 cause I want that table clean.

Also for the color, did you know that there is a "high" G
color and a "lower" G color...Yeap...each color can be subdivided
into high, medium & low.......

So me I prefer medium G...cause high G is too high and low G is too low.

No I don't have a psychiatrist.
