Are melee diamond rings really a vintage or antique look?

Read this morning and found interesting.

Various people answered and seems the look is trying to copy fillagree and engraving but adding micro diamonds.
MAYBE?

Leigh Jay Nacht has authentic vintage rings. I see a lot of bright cut pave, applied sparingly or as semi eternity with lots of engraving and filigree to add interest. Pave was bright cut, and there is a lot of channel setting. Prong set pave was very bulky and showed a lot of gold. So yes, I think that micro pave is a modern interpretation of vintage. It also depends on class...the average ring was probably simpler amongst working class. Not to mention that times were tough during the Great Depression and world wars! We certainly live in an age of excess.
